Mine expired in July. Been to busy to get it done. Last week I decided to go get it done. She will not fire! No fuel getting to the carbrator. Traced the problem to the fuel pump. Replaced it this morning this morning. Fires right up! Son let's check everything out before I take her in for the inspection. No break lights. Stupid brake light switch! Call my buddy Russel Anderson I Beasly Texas. Has one! 138 miles later. Wil install this Evening along as replace the fuse for the wipers. Maybe tommorrow after church. 60 percent chance of rain. Out of town next weekend for business. Larry Christmas parrade this year or was that 2013 you where planning on me attending. |

Don't know if this is good or bad, but the state of Alabama does not require a yearly vehicle inspection. Lawrence |

Don & Lawrence - similar law applies here in Texas. Vehicles registered as antiques (believe it's 25 years and older) are not required to have or display safety inspection stickers. In fact, the Texas DMV issues a rather attractive looking license plate for antique vehicles, or one may choose to display an original set of plates from the year of manufacture of said vehicle. My '53 3B has '53 Texas Truck plates displayed on it while my latest toy, an '81 CJ7 has a new Texas Antique plate displayed on the rear; (they're issued as a single plate only). My '64 Chevy pick-up also has a set of original '64 Texas Truck plates displayed front and rear, along with a replica '64 Inspection sticker displayed on the inside passenger side windshield (where they were posted back then in Texas). |

Larry they changed the law last year. If you drive the vechile for anything but in a Parade it has to pass a safety inspection. You can register it as a clasic with the special plates but has to pass safety inspections to be driven on in a street. Last summer Jason ran into the same issue when he tried to register his. Also you can't register a vechile with antique plates. They did grand father any body previously registered with them |
