Actually Capt. Joe was up the river. A few days ago, Capt. Joe, a member here of the CJ-3B Page, came up the Cape Fear River and docked in Wilmington, NC only 10 miles from my front door and my new Willys port. (carport) I picked up Capt. Joe at the docks and we spent the better part of a day talking and looking at jeeps. I took him to see a friend of mine, Dave Smith who just finished building a MB look-a-like all from aluminum and mounted it on a CJ5 frame. Dave, who owns a sheet metal shop did a wonderful job of fabricating the body. I'll take some pictures of the finished project. After a lunch at my local hot dog joint,Paul's Place, http://chipmillard.wordpress.com/2009/10/2...north-carolina/ we spent a good bit of time at my house looking at my 1953 CJ-3B and my 1959 Willys Pickup. If any of you has a chance to spent time with Capt. Joe, don't pass it up. Joe is a easy going, friendly guy with a knowledge of jeeps and more tha a few good stories. Capt. Joe, thanks for making time to see me and you'll be welcomed back. |

You two know that you're teasing the heck out of us here in Texas with the talk of BBQ & beer, not to mention Don's photos of the delicious looking hot dogs! Don, you're absolutely right about Capt. Joe - having had some past dealing with him, he's a great fellow and a sure 'nuff real McCoy contributor to the 3B collector's throughout the globe! Hmmmm, best I haed to the kitchen now! |
