I have the good fortune to be travelling to central Florida, NNW of Orlando during this chilly winter and will be driving down from Canada. Of Course Walck's is on the itinerary for a stop in. ;) Just wondering if there is any b owners in the area or a good hiding yard for jeep parts or parts house in the central florida area? hoping to score on some small parts for an m 100 trailer and my 56 B. :)

;) Gee, Thanks! If you can remember the name of the guy or the phone number email or PM me with the info! This is perfect as I am headed to the town next door, Leesburg! Little research revealed Mt Dora as a Antiquicties/ junk town central .
If anyone thinks of another place, I'm still interested. This is going to be my my entertainment as mouse land is not on my list.
Anyone know of any carshows going on down there this time of year worth attending?

Leesburg is nice little town. I use to stay at Lane Park Cottages in Leesburg and fished for Shellcrackers in the spring of the year on Big Lake Harris. This was in the 1960's guess things may have changed some.

Ian,
If you like Greek food there's an excellent location near Tampa called Tarpon Srpings.
Google Search Greek Food

Not in North Central florida, and Not worth the drive if anyone recommends it. But there is a Jeep supply house in Bradenton florida about 30 min south of Tampa. I went there last summer and the place is LOADED with parts, mostly NOS. Awesome collection of jeep stuff. The reason the place is loaded, is the loaded prices. for one example, He was asking $30 for hood latches.....$30 a piece, and he had about 100 in a box. Prices like that will not have me go back. Good luck with your hunt. If I hear of any others than Mt dora, I'll add to the post.

Lawrence, Rus and J rod , thanks for your input.
I have done some research on the mysterious Mt. Dora Jeep refuge and only came up with a possibly good car show and parts swap while i'm there. My luck it will be chevys and fords. Also a couple listings via the craigslist. . But all for items not needed or too heavy ( L head, just the head, for $150). Lawrence , I haven't been to Leesburg before but looks interesting, while be residing at the Plantations settlement. Rus, I did find Tarpon Springs before you mentioned it. I interested in it for the food and the sponges thanks to the Mike Rowe "Dirty Jobs" show. Can never refuse a good piece of baclava!
As for Bradenton I remember seeing this place advertised but research on google revealed nothing. As for the prices if he wants that much for a latch then he can keep them. But by chance would he have any sign of a half cab softop frame.?
Keep the suggestions coming!
