During a little summer cleaning/organizing and I came across a KH 14" steel rim that I had sandblasted, epoxy primed and painted. I salvaged this from a late 60 's mid 70 postal Dj and I am looking to sell this along with the new 16" repo rim. Straight on the bead. Holes not enlarged. Also have a couple 15's good as a spare. Open to offers on the 14 rim, just send me a Pm. |

Would that be a 5 lug later postal rim or a four lugger from a DJ3A? |

Not sure the 14" is a jeep wheel, I have hunted a couple times in the past for any listing for a 14" wheel used on any early Willys Jeep model and have found none listed. In checking parts lists & service manuals thru 1971 I see 13"-15"-& 16" wheels used but no 14" does anyone have anything different? maybe a IH or ford wheel? Bruce |

That's corrrect BA. Must be KH wheels for something other than CJ, DJ, Wagon or Pickup. |

Local tire shop had one 14 inch wheel, he claimed it came off a Postal Jeep. Looked exactly like any other KH jeep wheel. (It was five lug, not four). Unfortunately for me he never did find a mate for it. I figured I could get a smaller rolling diameter tire for that than the current 15 inchers I have on my DJ with doors, which has 5 lug axles on it. (redrilled fronts and a swapped rear I think in the back). Even with the lowest aspect ratio tires I could find without getting silly it is geared a bit high for starting out. I have seen DJ3A's with four lug rims from varying sources in 13, 14, and 15, but like you guys mentioned, a 14 from the factory is not something I am familiar with either. |

One of the more common 14" wheels found on DJ3A is from 6 cylinder Mustangs and some Falcons. I have at least 5 to sell cheap with nice tires. My DJ3A from California was so equipped when it came to Maine, probably because of ease of finding radial tires. With trim rings and unlabeled Ford Pickup hubcaps, they look good. Had to really scramble to get enough stock 15" wheels and still looking for more. From a previous post, there is a limited interchange on the real 15" KH wheel used, namely DJ3A, Aero Willys cars, Early Willys Fleet Vans, and supposedly 2WD Scouts. A good fit is an early Rambler 4 stud, 15" wheel, not exact, but even the W hub cap will work. I'm running 2 of them found at Hershey last fall. Like to find more. Later production DJ3A also used a 13" wheel on some models. I have no knowledge of interchange on these. You will find your DJ3A wanders more with the stock bias 15" tires than with the 14"radials. Your steering box issues really show up. Just something else to rebuild, and not an easy fix. The new gadget "Tight Steer" doesn't cure bad output bearings on your old Jeep. A nice set of 15" radial WW's will spoil a grand, plus all else you decide to cure while you're in the neighborhood. |

FWIW I have three 14" NDT tires (trying to get the fourth from the guy). I wondered what they were from. Postal jeep maybe? |
