Hey fella's, I read various claims from different parts dealers that their shifter boots are not the type that disintegrate in a couple years, I fell for that during my rebuild and now mine is crumbling. Whats the real world choice out there without the dealer hype? Has anyone found a brand that lasts like the originals did? |

Hey Goose, I had the same problem on my 55 Willys....with a little adjustment got these to fit fine. They are made with good thick rubber that lasts. Listed as: "Jeep Willys MB GPW early heavy rubber shift boots T-84 transmission" Sold on eBay by "QTM Jeep parts" Jax |

I know I've seen some leather ones but I can't remember where. |
Old retired fart living in Ione, WA. I have a 1964 CJ3B. Recently overhauled original motor, transmission and overdrive. 11" Bronco drum brakes on all 4. Needs a new coat of paint but that will have to wait till next summer, it's next summer and I'm working on that now UPS & FEDEX will continue to profit

Oh yeah, friend of mine had some made of leather saying they lasted years. Not too shabby on a machine so when my canvas ones wear out I might take a look at that idea. Thanks for the heads up on those drawings Rus.

After running without shifter boots of any type for years, I finally broke down and bought the leather boots from Kaiser Willys. I put them on last fall and they look great. We'll see how long they last and how well they hold up. Transfer case Transmissioin I do like the idea of making your own though - I bet it's cheaper.... |

I ordered a set of drawings from Roger. I will let ya know how they look. My wife is pretty good at sewing, makes a lot of costumes for plays. Now let's see if she can make Jeep parts.
