Ventilating windshield; Wiper arm hits hood block?

Hi all, maybe lawrance can help me out. i did not have any wipers on the passenger side, but now added a manual wiper, so question is, if it is parked like lawrence's picture, thee wiper arm hits the hood block, if I fold the windscreen down.

Only parking the blade inward moves it out of the way. How is it with your jeep? :

Also DOM did post a question about hood blocks, I believe now that the owner had the same problem and decided to cut the blocks to create clearance now ( We had the discussion with Aussie Jeeps)?

sinannasirli,
I park both wiper blades in a vertical position when I lower the hood.
Sent you a PM.

The passenger wiper motor is optional on both srtandard and ventilation type windshields.

On a standard 3B W/S the trico motors are bottom mounted.
One LH motor is used on the LH side and one optional RH motor may be used on the RH side.
The blades should both park inward at all times on a standard W/S.

On the optional ventilating W/S the exact same wiper motors are used on the exact same sides of the W/S.
Because the the trico motors are mounted on top of the ventialting W/S the wiper blades both park outward.

I think this was the main reason why they cut the hood blocks for the below jeep. THat way, you do not need to worry about where to park the wipers/ avoid wiper functioning accidentally and hitting the hood block.(DOM's picture)

G'day guys,

Was wondering why my ears were tingling then I see mention on the 3B site of Dom and hoodblocks!

Here's a quick photo of what I did and why...will post some clearer images soon:

The soft top channel drops into the notched section, allowing the screen to lie perfectly flat. Also, it allows manual wipers to park properly without interfering although not the vac one which sticks further out. For that reason I've set mine up to park inboard as you can see.

I've posted this whilst on the road (literally - in the passenger seat!) will post more details next weekend with pics, of how it fits with screen down and also hood up. It works quite well.
