A project is never done. Here are the factory correct hooks that I put on the frame horns. ![]() And here are two pictures of the engine bay, showing the heater control valve installed, and also a Mid 60's vintage Wix oil filter installed. The "spin on" type oil filter is correct for 1964. ![]()

jeepdan, let it get out and get dirty, let it run. It looks sanitary and that is for street rods not jeeps, especially 'trailer queens'. Dick w. Spokane wa. |

Dan, what an amazing job you've done; so impressive in fact, the photos encourage me to want to get busy again on my 3B! Is the trailer sitt'n beside the jeep an MBT or M100; (whichever, it appears to be in great shape as well)? I seem to recall seeing a photo you posted some time back showing the jeep pulling a trailer, but really can't remember if that in fact was yours or another 3B Page member; (both the jeep and the trailer, perhaps a 416, had M 151 Mutt wheels). |

Now that I think about the 3B & trailer photo, that may have been Eddie's jeep. |

Thanks for the kind comments and the fun jabs over it's sterility. Admittedly, I had a whole lot more fun with the jeep before the restoration. Driving around our 20 acres of WV hills cutting fire wood, and hunting was a blast with it. It never ceased to amaze me how it would crawl around the woods loaded down with fire wood, or pull a log. Ever since the restoration six years ago, it has never been driven on a wet road or caught in the rain. Heck, it has never been washed with water  , only wiped down from frame to body with dusting rags. Now that I'm aware of it's rarity as a military 3B, it will always be treated this way as long as I own it. I have really gotten a preservationist attitude as I have grown older. I may even will it to a museum someday, although my children would be pretty upset over that. |

Say, I was wondering about your oil filter, what happens when you unscrew it? Beautiful Jeep by the way. I like it a lot.

Old retired fart living in Ione, WA. I have a 1964 CJ3B. Recently overhauled original motor, transmission and overdrive. 11" Bronco drum brakes on all 4. Needs a new coat of paint but that will have to wait till next summer, it's next summer and I'm working on that now UPS & FEDEX will continue to profit

Never changed a filter on a Hurricane before but seems like it's in a good position to drain down OK. Left over night even better with couple of rags to catch the drips. Horizontal mounted filters are the worst...always messy. ![]() Outstanding example there Jeepdan. What a beut' |

I found this set of hooks on ebay back in February. According to the seller, he removed them from a 65 jeep commando that he had bought years ago. My winning bid $70.00. According to the G503 forum, they were used on WW11 MZ-2 radio jeeps, CJV-35, and some marine corp. jeeps. http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=217641 Oddly enough, according to the G503 forum, the hooks are still manufactured by Holland Hitch, Only the part number cast into them is slightly changed. The original numbers were; 1257R and 1257L http://ww1.safholland.us/quicklit/XL-PH220-01_en-US.pdf |

Very nice indeed! But I think if my 3B ever looks that nice I would still have to drive it! That's what they were made for. |
