G'day all, Am hoping one of the friendly folk on the 3B Forum can help me out once more with a measurement on the original Willys canvas top hardware.... When I purchased my 3B, it came with all the main bows for an original canvas top, plus the front-bow-to-windscreen rods. It was missing the door latch rods and the front-bow-to-rear-bow rods. I've found some suitable 3/8" rod stock and am 'starting long and trimming back' for the front-bow-to-rear-bow rods but don't want to cut too short. Could someone please advise the end-to-end length of these? They are the plain straight rods that fit into the holes in the bows just above side window height, and they set the correct space between the front and rear bow assemblies.. I still need to figure out the door rods but I figure if I get the rest right I can just shape these to fit. Thanks in advance, regards Dom |

Hi Lawrence, I was hoping you'd spot my plea for help! Yes please, those are the two. The PO misplaced them I think when the old top rotted away. Thanks very much, regards Dom |

Lawrence is the man, he sent me several pics of the horizontal rods above the doors and was able to easily copy his measurements and pictures to fabricate my set of door rods. Now we can have a set of verticle door rods too!! We just need to get Derek to keep them in the tech section for all to use. |

Thanks very much Lawrence! I agree these should go in the Tech section - the bows and rods are often sought after. Regards Dom |
