i think it would be interesting to see this information in a poll, it might kind of simulate the outcome of the 3b prototype had it been implemented. i am surprised at how many do seem to like it. |

Phil, that's a nice looking hood that Kerry made. Thanks for that link. Great idea Bob. I'll go ahead and conjure us up a slope hood poll. IMHO the sloped hood makes a 3B look a bit more like the Wrangler. |

In my speech at the Spring Willys Reunion I said that the 1953 sloped-hood CJ-3B reminded me of this guy:![]() Everything I have found out about the prototype is included near the bottom of the page at http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/CJ4Prototypes.html -- It appears to have been a modification of a production CJ-3B, rather than part of the CJ-4 project. Had it been approved, perhaps it would have become the 1954 CJ-3B. I think the idea of modifying a 3B to represent this historic experiment would be a great project. Derek |

Just my opinion, but it just would'nt be a "3b" with a tapered hood!! Heaven forbid, what would the purist say about it all!!

Yes, but if that was the way it was produced from the start, none of us would know any different. |

Is that all there is to it? I like it enough that I am considering this mod. No radiator or shroud modifications? Sorry all you purists, I love my high-hood but always admired the 2 & 3A grills better with their headlights lower and more on the sides of the grill slats. |

Great question Goose. That's exactly what I was wondering myself. Not quite sure if the slope modification will require the 3A or the 3B fan shroud. The side mount 3A uses the same radiator but I know that the shroud is somehow different. I do plan to check into that given an opportunity to closely inspect a standard 3A. |
