just imagine that jeep painted up like a pink surrey, it would be the most embarrasing thing in the world to lose to. on a side note, i highly doubt he is still 4wd, considering it is automatic. |

Not so! I built a 55 cj5 in the mid 70's and I put a 350ci sbc with a 400 turbo automatic!! I used all the stock running gear except I put the tapered bearings on the idler shaft in the transfer case and positrac in the rear dif. I did have to adjust the driveshaft lengths. The rear one ended up at 8 inches long. It worked realy well, but I had to put wedges between the spring mounts to tip up the rear dif to help straighten the sharp angle of the driveshaft and they kept working out on me. I can't quite remeber how I solved the problem! Long time ago!! |

That is one bad machine! But impractical as heck when compared to what the Jeep was designed for. Still , one would look twice as it left the stop lights with tires alight. Glad Police were onto his antics.

Short wheelbase, high power, stiff suspension and no rollbar. Hope the driver and passenger have signed up as organ donors. |

Its cool, but (sorry to say) incredibly stupid. This is the functional equivalent of a 4-wheeler on pavement. It always ends badly. You can see he's on the "edge" when he takes off. Because of the huge amount of torque and power it jerks and pulls and he barely keeps it from flipping. Not trying to be a "killjoy" (sorry about the pun), but that's where this is headed. His best option is a good set of leathers and a helmet, no seatbelt, and hope that he gets thrown clear when it flips. Sorry. John J 1958 CJ3B Cape Coral, Florida |

I've seen it up close and personal at the local car shows. That guy is a time bomb. He drives it like he's still a high schooler in the early 1960's He likes to squeel them out loud when driving around the car shows. It still has a D25 up front but it's really a 2WD because it has no transfer case. My stock 3B draws a completely different crowd of lookers. |
