Well the CJ I was hoping to have as a winter project will be spending another winter in Montauk New York. I had no idea it was going to be such a pain to arrange for transport. Finally found a company to do it but they couldn't pick it up until a day after it was going to be locked away in a barn for the season. All I have are pictures to make me wonder what type of fun I will have in the spring when I can get it down to Florida.![]()

What type of restoration are you planning on doing? |
Old retired fart living in Ione, WA. I have a 1964 CJ3B. Recently overhauled original motor, transmission and overdrive. 11" Bronco drum brakes on all 4. Needs a new coat of paint but that will have to wait till next summer, it's next summer and I'm working on that now UPS & FEDEX will continue to profit

Looks to me like you're going to have LOT's of fun with it come spring, depending that is on how much of a restoration you plan on doing. |

It will be a resto mod. The gentleman I am getting it from is an old auto mechanic and says the frame is in good condition and since I am getting it for free other than transport costs I can't really say no. I will be taking it down to the frame and building her back up again. I am planning on upgrading certain things but keeping the original drivetrain and engine after rebuilding them. The body is a loss but it does have a few salvageable parts. This will eventually be my wife's beach car when I am done playing with it. |
