This photo appeared on a Facebook page several years ago. All efforts at the time to contact the owner failed. It's a million to one shot but I sure would like to be in contact with whatever shop made that convertible top. I would most definitely let them make another for me if they were interested!!! Dj3a convertible ![]() That front tag says antique automobile Delaware and that's the best attempt at replicating a dj3a dispatcher convertible top that I've ever seen. Ps. $100.00 reward to information leading to that shop that made that top and if they can make another just like it which I'd gladly pay for. I'm SERIOUS about the reward!!!! |

Charles, You may already have this info, but I noticed an ad on eWillys (it's from 2011) but to me looks like the same jeep with top down. Has same tag on front. http://www.ewillys.com/2011/02/28/1957-dj-...lphia-pa-20000/ Another one you may already know about (way back from 2010) showing same top: http://www.ewillys.com/2010/02/03/1963-dj-...edford-ma-ebay/ |

Thanks Russ. That's new information to me on the white jeep. Going to check with Colin on the DJ database and see if any info about it got recorded. Also checking with Dave@ewillys. He's now the proud owner of not one but TWO 1956 dj3a Dispatcher convertibles which he is documenting the preservation of. Like me they're missing the tops. The Green Jeep I looked for for years. It recently reappeared for sale completely minus the top. No info could be found on what happened to it. The top that is. Very frustrating. I've about managed to gather enough information together to eventually make one from absolute scratch but there's a lot of unseen intricate details inside that top. Some of which I plan to further document at a more aproprate (as I learn more) date. Would be a lot easier to buy one already made!!! If there's a upholstery shop ANYWHERE that's got a pattern to work with and duplicate a top like that...The Reward Still Stands. |
