Found this the other day and figured it would be cool to toss in the back of the Surrey when it is done. It is a real Chicago Schwinn, one of the last.

It actually rides pretty nicely for a single speed. I think it was worth the $10 I paid.

That is cool. A while back there was a Surrey for sale down in Houston that had a matching color Cushman Highlander that went with it. When I was a kid back in the late 50s, I had one like that. Not an Eagle, which I really wanted, but a 1956 3.8 horsepower Highlander that I paid $60 for, that served me well on my paper route. Back then you could get a scooter license at 14 in Arizona. I rode mine while I was 13 in 1957 but we lived out in the county, so didn't have to worry about city cops tagging me. I had a large route and my bike just wasn't cutting it! In 1960, I sold it for $80. I do have a 1956 Cushman Eagle now that I have had for 36 years. 8 HP. and I paid $35 for it then. Now you can't touch an Eagle for less than about $2500.
