I picked her up last Friday in NH, and the old soldier had a tear in his eye as he drove into my trailer saying good-by. He had babied the little tailgate equipped, open topped DJ3A, painted it military OD, put his old numbers on it, and tried to make it a safe runner to participate in local parades. Well he couldn't quite finish the job and decided over the winter to let it go. Now, it joins my stable of DJ3A types, 1956 Miss Willy 56337-10488, 1959 Dispatcher Parts Donor 56337-16031 and 1962 Surrey Project 56337-21501. Where I go from here is anyone's bet. At 71, with ticker problems, I'm not likely to get past a new engine for Miss Willy. But there's sure a nice pile of DJ3A stuff in Maine Now!! |

Glen was kind enough to forward me this picture of the military dressed DJ. I'm of the opinion that ANY mods are perfectly appropriate depending upon the opinion, wants, or needs of the owner. In this case though, I really really like it, especially with the story that comes with it. ![]() Oh, and here's another Dj I really like the looks of. For those who haven't seen her that would be Glens very own '1956 Miss Willy'. As the owner of a 56 myself that year is very very close to my heart!!! ![]() Let's all join together and just say AWSOME!!!! |
