From eWillys today:

http://www.ewillys.com/wp-content/uploads2...at-jokester.jpg

Very entertaining article about "Desert Rat Scrap Book" that I'd never heard of. HHHMMM, June of 1956 and a first edition DJ3A in Central California. Miss Willy, # 488 produced, spent her whole life there prior being yanked to Maine. Looking hard at the windshield, can't see any wipers, just like Miss Willy. I've searched and can't seem to find the info, but Miss Willy never has had wipers, even has the correct "DELETE" screws. Got to study this some more. Were wipers an option? Anyone have this edition of Willys News? Any more wiperless CA Jeeps?

Very interesting photo. Really liking the shiny mounting bolts that are showing.

Also I'd like to see this picture IN COLOR!

Wish I knew somebody who is involved in colorizing old moves starting by working from the existing tones and shades on the original film. Either that or someone from NASA or even 'maybe' CIA, FBI, or heck, even NSA who have the equipment to analize the correct colors and redo the photo.

Wouldn't that be KOOL!!!

Ps. This picture supports my own theory that this is what a true from the factory 'open body' jeep dispatcher should look like.

Tall windshield and tailgate on a platform that other options could be easily added to.
