A friend of mine with a 61 DJ3A Dispatcher has been looking for the sliding door rubber as well. It is an L shaped welting that attaches to the inside of the door and seals against the body when the door slides open. So far we have not been able to find that rubber. Nor have we found the sliding glass rubber, however there is a guy on the web who does DJ5 Postal Jeep stuff, you might try him for the glass rubber. Not sure if he has the door rubber though. Good luck. |

Would a dj5 rubber for the sliding door be the same as a dj3a sliding door? |

I don't know for sure, but I suspect the doors themselves aren't that much different. Which means the rubber is probably enough similar that it would work. If the DJ5 guy down in Alabama would send you a piece to look at or a photo of the weatherstrip, you could decide from there, and my friend here would benefit as well. As for the window stripping, my friend bought some thin fabric weatherstripping at a local upholstery supplier here in Phoenix that he was able to glue into the window channels and that has been working fine. He also bought the two handles that you use to lift the windows up in the channels for everyday usage from the guy in Alabama. That stuff is holding up very well. |
