..... I have had several conversations with Dean, pleading with him to leave it as a right hand drive, but he is converting it to left hand drive, but keeping it 2WD.....

he's doing what?

Whoops, sorry. It's his DJ and he can do what he wants with it. Whew.

I'll go ahead and throw some pictures up for documentation here. If for nothing else than to show what 'could' be special ordered in 1964.

once again photos borrowed from Ewillys and thanks Dave!!

The Yellow DJ6 RHD automatic ended up in Hardwick Massachussetts.

I don't think the Fence Rider was RHD or automatic, but I haven't researched enough to know that, it's just a thought.

EDIT: Sorry Joe, I was working on this when you posted. By the time I saw your post it was too late to take it back.

Truth is I'd probably not really be a fan of the steering wheel being on the wrong side either but in the scheme of things that is pretty special.

But if your like me you'd like to have seen a better image of that truly unusual dash and automatic shift mechanism. Luckily there's one HERE that I can borrow from. It's not from a DJ3A though.

The following images are from a 1968 DJ6 POSTAL JEEP as seen here on THIS site.

Well Joe, somehow I managed to get this thread way off topic. I really don't know how to explain that except to say that maybe something else will turn up on the Dj3A Fence Riders. Please don't hold it against me.

OK, correction time! Bruce caught several mistakes I made(Not as big as Brian Williams, though!), and I am correcting my statement here. The prefix on the Passaic Jeep is 8202, not 8204(which would have been a Surrey). The air filter on closer examination of the photos, is different than the one on my 1960 Surrey. The oil filler tube is also different, as it is like those on the earlier CJ2 and 3 models, larger in diameter, with a tube going from the oil filler to the air cleaner, similar to those on the CJ3B, CJ5 and 6 models. The Passaic Jeep also has a closed PCV system as opposed to the road draft tube type on the DJs.

I sent several photos to Charles in hopes he can post them to show some of the differences in the right hand drive DJ and the standard ones. Possibly some of the modifications shown in the parts list for the Fence Rider are the same as for this bug spraying DJ3A.

Sorry for the misinformation!
