Hello All
Request members of the forum to guide me to the correct starter switch for my dj3a.
I remember reading some where it should be marked STARTER on the bezel.
Looking forward for information and leads to the same.
Thanks again.

Hello friends
Thanks a lot for the info.
I think I have the latter one,but did it have "starter"inscribed on it too.

How many stops does the latter switch have?the one on my dj has two ,one counter clockwise from centre that only gets the electricals On and the clockwise that starts the engine.
Would it be the correct thing?
Thanks.

the latter switch does not have 'starter'engraved in bezel. I would add either switch would be "acceptable" and if you like the switch with starter within bezel, keep searching and I am sure you will find a nos or used ign switch

both switches have same key positioning with

'accessory' to the left
'off' in center
'start/run' to right
just as you describes

Thanks Bruce for the clarification.
I will have to wait until early next year when I open up my dj for restoration,to examine and post pictures.
So many things to clarify and learn on this wonderful forum on a very beautiful jeep in days to come.
Thanks again.
Dinesh.

I've got an assortment of several key dj3a Dispatcher ignition (starter) switches, both types.

Here's one with the 'starter' bezel that I was going to use on my 56 but managed to find a nos one eBay that I'll be using instead.

The later ones are easier to find but aren't quite as fancy looking.

Like Bruce said both types function the same.
