Hello friends At last I have work started on the dj3a. In the first phase we have started restoring the front and rear axle, brakes and transmission. Having seen no djs being restored and the rarity of the dj here in India,I need some guidance over rebuilding the handbrake assembly. the T shaped lever does exist on the dj at present but the rear wheel plates lack the internal parts to get it functional. I request experienced members and experts to guide me on the same. any help with references and pictures would be very helpful. Thanks again. regards, dinesh |

There's two types of handbrake cables. A cane handle takes a different cable end than the t-handle type. Charles |

http://www.jeepsurreygala.com/?attachment_id=2308 [/QUOTE] Can somebody please help me with the dimensions of the part no.12 in the diagram in the picture above. It is the handbrake lever that fits the rear of the transmission cross member. A line diagram of what fits where from the same diagram would be helpful too. Thanks. Dinesh |

That's great info. Some other doubts. I may sound silly, but not able to understand. 1. Where does the spring no. 6 attach to ? 2. Where would the hooked end of adjusting rod no.11 engage, the first hole or the second close to the pivot? 3. Where does the rear cable run on the equaliser no.10? Thanks. Regards. Dinesh |

The rear cable is placed inside the equaliser loop and the equaliser no.10 is fixed with the hex nut over it to avoid it being displaced when in action. Do I sound right? |
