Inaugural Draft Information - The Inaugural Draft will be 30 Rounds long and the draft will start: Thursday, 8th of September - All picks will be made in this Draft Forum. - The draft will be a snake draft (1,2,3,4 then 4,3,2,1 then repeat). The draft order will be generated once everyone has paid. All fees must be paid before Wednesday, 7th of September so next Tuesday is the last day to pay your fee. - Players who were drafted in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and the 2011 NHL Entry Draft cannot be drafted in this draft! They will be available in our Entry Draft, but they are ineligible to be drafted during the Inaugural Draft. All other players are up for grabs as long as they are 18 years old or older. - During the Draft, each team will be given 8 hours to make their selection on their turn. - If you fail to make your pick within the time allotted, you will be skipped and we will move on with the draft. The next time it is your turn, you will only be given 1 hour to make your pick for the remainder of the draft, so please make sure you will never miss your picks! - We use real life Cap Hits for Player Salaries. http://capgeek.com is the site we use to get our Cap Hits. - After you have drafted a player, you have 24 hours to determine the length of his contract by posting it in the Contract Term Announcement Forum. - If the player is without a contract in the NHL when the draft starts, we will use the player's new Cap Hit when he signs with an NHL team. - If the player has never been signed to an NHL contract when the draft starts, then he will automatically be signed to an Entry Level Contract that is worth $1.3M per year for 3 years. - Inaugural Picks CANNOT be traded. However, you can swap your drafting position with another team before the Draft starts. - AFTER YOU HAVE ANNOUNCED YOUR PICK, IT CANNOT BE CHANGED ANYMORE! If you have any questions about the draft, please post them here and I'll answer. Edited by Mr. Penguin, Sep 11 2011, 04:06 PM.

Entry Draft Information - The Entry Draft will be 5 Rounds long and the draft will start once 5-10 rounds of the Inaugural Draft have been gone through. - All picks will be made in this Draft Forum. - The draft will have a reversed order from our Inaugural Draft, so if you picked last in the Inaugural, you get to pick first during the Entry Draft. - Players who were drafted in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and the 2011 NHL Entry Draft will be available in our Entry Draft. So players like Hall, Seguin, Skinner, RNH and Larsson will be up for grabs meaning it will be a very deep entry draft. - During the Draft, each team will be given 8 hours to make their selection on their turn. - All Entry Draft players will go to your Junior Team and you have 3 years to sign them to an Entry Level Contract. First round draftees will get a contract worth of $1.3M and all the rest will get a contract worth of $0.8M when you finally decide to sign them to ELCs. - This year's Entry Draft picks CANNOT be traded because this is a special draft (includes 2 draft classes) but all future draft picks (2012, 2013 etc)can be traded when trading is finally allowed before the start of the season. If you have any questions about the draft, please post them here and I'll answer. |

Hmm this isn't something that I've discussed with Pete, but I'd assume the inaugural entry draft will be snake style in order to be consistent with the dispersal draft. However, for the 2012 entry draft and beyond, the draft will be pro style. |

Yes, both the Inaugural Draft and the Entry Draft will be snake style drafts. But all future Entry Drafts and Free Agent Drafts will be "standard drafts", meaning no snaking in the future. Taylor Hall, Tyler Seguin, Cam Fowler, Jeff Skinner... all 2010 draftees are off limits during our Inaugural Draft because all 2010 and 2011 draftees are available in our first ever Entry Draft. |
