I¡¯ll start by saying that the majority of my miles Nike Air max Thea Pas Cher in the Wildhorse 2 have been on ice or snow covered sidewalks or on packed snow on trails near my house. There is no bare trail available up here this time of year, so I can¡¯t comment on performance on dirt or mud. However, loose snow over ice is about as challenging as it gets for traction so I think I have a good handle on how they perform. You can see that after 40 miles I¡¯ve ground down the protruding portions of the white pods directly above and to the right the 4.0 in the image below:Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit side sole I¡¯m wondering if the slightly rounded heel, curved sole, and flexibility of the shoe have something to do with this more anterior wear pattern? Performance Today Nike releases the 2015 editions of the Free running shoes, with new versions of the 5.0, 4.0, and 3.0 hitting the market (they are now in-stock at the Nike.com store). All three look to be upper updates that retain the sole of previous versions ¨C this is encouraging as the issues I had with the 4.0 and 5.0 had to do with the uppers. Reviewing road shoes during the winter in New Hampshire is ver nike air max outlet online France y challenging. Once the snow begins to fall, we typically deal with a few months where sidewalks remain covered by snow and/or ice, and roads are narrowed by snowbanks. The latter makes roads especially dangerous to run if there is any traffic. This winter has been particularly rough up here, and I¡¯ve seen very little bare asphalt or sidewalk since early January. The outsole material is fine overall, if not a little too soft of a compound (the lugs are wearing pretty quick). The tread pattern, especially in the heel, is silly in my mind as it adds a lot of weight with no tangible benefit. I also don¡¯t understand why they didn¡¯t just have a complete full outsole without the line of exposed EVA separating the edges from the middle of the outsole. This creates a much softer edge for the shoe which decreases its precision and edging in more technical terrain. Complaints aside, the traction is adequate on dry surfaces. I have not run them in mud, but would expect them to be lacking due to the relatively shallow lug depth. The fit is fantastic in comfort and average in security. It is a pretty low volume fit with a low toebox height and a more sock-like cut to the entire upper. The original Nike Free 3.0 (see picture above) holds a special place in my running shoe collection because it was the first truly minimalist shoe that I ever ran in. I had read Christopher McDougall¡¯s book ¡°Born to Run¡± early last year, and found his arguments against traditional running shoes to be compelling (I¡¯ve since moderated my views significantly on this ¨C check out this post as an example). I wanted to try going more minimalist, but being wary of jumping right into barefoot running or running in the Vibram Fivefingers, I decided to look for a more moderate transitional shoe ¨C the Free 3.0 fit the bill nicely. I nike air max femme pas cher t was lighter than any shoe I had previously worn, was very flexible, and had a sock-like upper. I ran and raced several hundred miles in the original Free 3.0 (you can read about my early experience with the Free 3.0 here), with long runs extending to 20 miles, and just last month bought a pair of the Free 3.0 v2, which I have used as both a work shoe and on a few runs. My overall experience with both versions has been highly positive, and I can honestly say th nike air max outlet online France e Free 3.0 is one of my all-time favorite running shoes. |
