In the past several years the Nike Air Max Griffey Cheap Free line has expanded and has become a bit of a juggernaut in the footwear world. Nike Frees are consistently among the best selling shoes in the US, and the top-selling shoe in the line is the Free 5.0+, which I¡¯ll review here.

First off, the Nike Lunarglide 5 is a great looking shoe. It¡¯s one of those rare shoes that I¡¯ll wear simply because I like the way it looks. My pair are in gray and bright orange, and the combo works really well. The upper consists of two layers of fabric separated by flywire bands that extend from the sole to the eyelets on each side (the orange strings that can be seen in the images here). The outer layer is a stretchy, open mesh, the inner layer is a more tightly woven fabric. The inner layer is stitched to the tongue on each side and has very few seams. It fits like a snug sock, and feels great against bare skin. At the back of the shoe there is a firm plastic cradle that wraps around the heel to provide support ¨C I have not experienced any irritation from this. The ankle collar is well padded and lined by a soft material. Overall, I¡¯m really impressed by the upper design and construction.

While the Elite 7 is designed as an uptempo running shoe, its stack height is somewhat substantial. Additionally, while the midsole material is firmer than, say the Pegasus 31, it is not as firm as most Nike Air Max LTD UK Outlet racing shoes. The shoe is fairly stiff longitudinally though, and that, combined with the ¡°crash rails¡± on the lateral side of the shoe, give the ride a rolling feel (akin to, but not as pronounced as, a Pearl Izumi N1/N2). While this may or may not be a good thing, depending on your preference, the end result is that the shoe is not that flexible, but still runs fairly nimbly despite the lack of flexibility. It has a zoom air unit in the forefoot, along with a solid patch of rubber outsole on the forefoot, which provides great protection across the metatarsals. That protection is no doubt the best feature of the ride for me; lots of help for tired feet without the weight of a full blown trainer.

I¡¯ll start by saying that the majority of my miles in the Wildhorse 2 have been on ice or snow covered sidewalks or on packed snow on trails near my house. There is no bare trail available up here this time of year, so I can¡¯t comment on performance on dirt or mud. However, loose snow over ice is about as challenging as it gets for traction so I think I have a good handle on how they perform.

My guess is that people with narrow feet, or those who have a relatively low-volume forefoot will not have a problem and the Free 5.0 2014 will work fine. My feet are average width (I can fit fine into most racing flats, which tend to be narrow), but may be slightly higher volume than average (i.e., taller top to bottom). Thus, the circumference of my foot in this area exceeds the circumference of the tunnel created by this restrictive overlay, and thus it¡¯s a no-go for me. So my rec would be that if you have a wide foot, or a thick foot from top to bottom, these shoes may not work out for you either (and if you had a problem with the forefoot band on the NB MT10, stay away for sure!). Narrow or

The Nike Zoom Elite 7 is a really nice shoe overall with one issue that may or may not be a major one depending on your gait: the lack of rubber under the inner heel. For me it has really detracted from what otherwise is a great all-around shoe that even handles trails quite well. All in all, I would recommen Posted Image d the shoes with the caveat that for some (maybe most) you will notice some lateral buildup relative to the medial side. If Nike fixed this one issue, I would call them one of the best versatile trainers out there that could go long or fast and not feel bad at either. The Nike Zoom Elite 7 is available for purchase at Running Warehouse, Amazon.com, and Nike.com. Outside of the US they can be purchased at Wiggle. Purchases made via these links provide a small commission to Runblogger and help t Nike Air Max Thea Print Trainers o support the production of reviews like this one ¨C thanks!
