I¡¯m not necessarily looking to go Nike Blazer Haute Femmes minimalist. More just looking to try something different. Is 5.0 a good place to start? This will be my first minimalist shoe. The Free 5.0 has traditionally been the best selling of the Free shoes (all are very popular) and retains a traditional style up.The big change comes to the sole where we see a new hexagonal siping pattern instead of the squares that have long characterized the Free line. The first thing I noticed about the sole of this shoe was that the forefoot felt surprisingly cushy. Despite having the thinnest sole of the three running shoes in the Free line, I feel like the 3.0 has the best forefoot cushioning of the group, and it remains noticeable when running in the shoes. In contrast, Nike Flyknit Lunar the heel has a firmer feel, and this makes for a unique ride ¨C it¡¯s more common for the reverse to be the case. Combined with the extreme flexibility of the siped sole, the unique feel of the cushioning has made for enjoyable ride runs up to 9 miles so far. I actually think I prefer the 3.0 for longer runs over it¡¯s more structured sibling the 5.0 ¨C the 3.0 is one of those shoes that just disappears on my feet. I have been using Nike Free 3.0 v4, v5 and now the Flyknit. I have to say that the toe box is so small in the Flyknit version that I just bought 3 pair of the v5 before I can¡¯t find them any more since I liked those so much. Maybe I could have gone up another half size, but thought they might be too long. I hope that they make the toe box bigger in the next iteration. However, I guess I should have looked at the 4.0 to see if the toe box is better. Thanks for the review! The Free 5.0 has the highest heel-forefoot drop and a more traditional, though still fairly minimal, upper. The Free 4.0 has a Flyknit upper with a tongue and it occupies the middle ground with regard to amount of cushion and structure. The Free 3.0 is the most minimal (lower number = more minimal) of the three shoes with the thinnest sol Nike Flyknit Max e and a Flyknit upper with no tongue. It¡¯s basically a sock with a sole attached. super comfortable and i have bunions on both feet (the reason i looked into them in the first place hoping for the give of a knit upper). i will for sure run in these but they wont be my go to (lunar racer 3 or currently NB fresh foam). they have made their way into my 10 shoe rotation (give or take). i was hoping they would come out with a 3. Nike Free 5.0 Pas Cher 0 sole but i will wait til they are on clearance. |
