So I was browsing PSPISO and came across a new thread saying that someone had released a video on Youtube showing a PSP with TA-088 v3 being hacked.

YouTube Video Link

Despertador21 of PSPGen forums says he got the thing from some Chinese trader. Apparently PSPGen has contacted him and he is talking, but I have my doubts with this video.

If you look closely at the 2:39 mark, he shows us a 1gb MS that he puts into the blue Slim. But then, at the 5:30 mark, he takes out a 16gb MS from the blue Slim. WTF moment, anyone?

Discuss.

PSPGen article (English speakers beware >=O)

P.S: I dont know if this is anything, but the PSP he is using is a blue Madden NFL PSP. Dont know if this makes any difference. Hopefully it doesnt, and this is legit cause I got a new Slim for christmas :D Looked all over for a 2000 Model and finally found a black one and bought a headset with it.
My signature? Tis a silly thing to read.

Thats legit. He switched the 3000 CPU with a hacked 2000 CPU. The classic switcheroo :P

Theres NO "HACKS"! It's freaking CWCheat noobish method.. Just be smart enough and you could maybe find it..

As for videos, they are true. Maybe not the first one.. Some guy (brokencodes) has found the pre-IPL decryption keys and submitted them on the net for someone to try something (but the god dammit link is down..). Anyways, Despertador21 said he got that from a chinese merchant, and we all chinese people are geek freaks and they do know alot about PSPs and stuff.

The second video (Colorgram's post) is true. Just buy a PSP3000, open it, change the motherboard for a PSP2000 one (NOT TA-088v3) and put the output to component. It's REALLY plausible, just the PSP3000 screen isn't compatible with 2000 motherboards, that's why.

There are many ways this video is fake:

1)He could have easily just taken the faceplate ( and the rest of the PSPs outer shell ) from an unhack-able PSP and put the blue faceplate on a hack-able PSP

2) He is known to pull pranks on the community

3) WTF? Where did the 16GB mem stick come from? He put a 1GB in the blue PSP.

4) It is quite rare for Chinese people to just give away mem sticks that can hack PSPs that Dark_Alex cannot hack yet...

5) Chinese people are not genius enough to hack a complex system such as the PSP, only Japanese people are.

6) He already owns a Piano black PSP, so it is possible he has many more PSPs laying around that are hack-able ( see #1 above)

7) He edited DCv6 to say his PSP was TA-088v3 (his PSP could have been any mobo), the original DCv6 doesn't say TA-088v3, it says TA-088+

As you can see the video is an obvious fake, wait till Dark_Alex to release a hack for the TA-088v3 mobos.

A lot of stuff they say in that paste is not true, "he" didn't hex edit DCv7 or pspident, Dark_Alex released the source to DCv6, that is how "he" was able to fake this video.

EDIT: Here's Alek's ( I think) post about the video, About recent 88v3 hacking video.

If you had any common sense, you would know that "they" speak on the same thing.

Chinese people are unable to hack the complexity of the PSP system? Wow that's incredibly racist sounding, isn't it?

If you say 'plz' because it is shorter than 'Please' then I'll say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
