Hi, I'm new to this forum, so i would first like to introduce myself to it's active members. Second, I would like to propose an idea that I have and would like your permission first. I am fallencx, an Co-Admin at GlitchesSocom.co.nr. I am an avid psp user, run CFW, and an very supportive of the homebrew scene and would like to become a part of it. I saw a Psp Paintball game which used the source for this game and it gave me an idea. I wanted to create a Nazi Zombies using this game's source code. So I'm posting for two reasons. One, I would like to have the source code and permission to this game. Two, I would also like to have a 101 on creating this homebrew and any help I can, considering that this will be my first program/homebrew. Thank you very much, fallencx |

NO Listen, appreciate the enthusiasm, but you will not get the source. Ever. Not going to happen. And the only person that made the game was Nataku92. He will not even tell you how the things in his code work. So, unless you have an extensive knowledge of C++ coding, I guess you'll just have to either do nothing or code your own game from scratch. |

Besides the fact that nataku does not give out his source code there are 2 other things I feel I should point out. 1. The paintball mod does not use any source code changes. (Im assuming thats what you were referring to) 2. You are an admin at a glitches site...that right there is a giant reason not to give it to you! Anyways, welcome to the forums! |

First of all, what does being an admin at a glitches site have anything to do with anything?!? Second, all I want to do is edit it because I thought the idea of the gameplay that was developed would be good for the game i was creating. I wanted to make a game unreleased to the public so I could use it with my brother and friends. |

If you already finding exploits in other games, whose to say you wont use the source code to exploit CSPSP? Im not saying you definitely would or anything, but if that did happen it would ruin the game and the community. |

Okay i guess i understand where you're coming from,but I'm using it to make my own game. I love cspsp and i wouldn't want to exploit it at all. I'd also like to change my request. I understand that you wouldn't me taking the game anywhere you wouldn't want it to go yourself and whatnot, but i would like to change skins and gun names? edit: not "my own game" but a gametype |

oh that can be done without the source code. Simply edit the guns.txt (CSPSP/data/). Make sure you change the corresponding sound if you change the gun name. (i.e. AK47 to Kaboom, u would change AK47.wav and AK47reload.wav to Kaboom.wav and Kaboomreload.wav) As for skins just change the gunsground.png and the guns.png. (CSPSP/gfx/) If you have any problems or need any help feel free to ask me or Xiphirx! |

Ohh okay, I had already figured out the gun pics and was having difficulty changing names. Can i change the gunsounds? And how about maps? And can I change names of characters, or is that not possible without the source? |

It's pretty easy to make a mod in CSPSP. Almost all of the files you see in the CSPSP folder are mod-able. Yes you can change the gun sounds in the sfx folder, just make sure the sound name corresponds to the gun name in guns.txt, and the sounds must be in mono (not stereo). You can make custom maps in UCSPSPE v1.60. You can change the names of the characters and other in-game texts by hex editing the eboot; when hex editing make sure you only replace hex/text, don't delete or add spaces. The only thing you can't mod is the actual gameplay, it will always be the cs mode with no respawning. I'm hoping nataku92 can make it mod-able somehow without releasing the source code (mod.txt anyone?). |

I understand how to edit the hex, but what am I searching for. For example, I saw in your tf2 mod it said "RED Team Wins" what part of the code did you change there? And what is the part for the names of characters (e.g. SEAL, Arctic Avengers...etc.). |

In your hex editing program (dont open it in notepad, it wont work correctly), search for the text string "Terrorist". There you will come upon the team names. Then do another search for "Arctic" that will show you all the individual character names. (EX: Arctic Avengers, Guerilla) |

It keeps saying it cannot find it. I'm looking in DATA.PSP right? Could you just give me the hex for it? I've only got the option of searching unicode and ASCII strings. I've tried searching both, but they both tell me the text is not found. |

I use a hex editor called XVI32; it lets you search for hex or text. Your's can't search for text? |
