It's assumed you just put your GBA cart in the DS and can access it through the PCs. Probably after doing some dumb-ass sidequest. And I guess it'll be out over here by....I dunno...Christmas sounds like a good guess. |

Yeah, it'll be an unlockable, like trading backwards always has been. It'll be done presumably by having the GBA pak in its slot, the DS in the other. Edit: Its a confirmed unlockable, so yeah. |

Effectively, this one has an interesting level up system. At various points throughout the game, the party find an artefact. This occurs seven times. Each time, each party member selects one of the seven spheres of magic to learn. Each sphere will grant different abilities (depending on how many of that sphere the player has learned. For instance, if you have a nature sphere and then equip a wind sphere, you would learn the most basic wind and nature techniques. If you had two natures and a wind, you would know the first two levels of nature spells and the most basic wind spells). In addition to this, each sphere affects stat growth. Using the same examples, if you had a nature and a wind sphere, and the character levelled up, that character would gain half of all the nature power ups, and half the wind power ups. However, if the character had two natures and a wind, they would gain two-thirds of the nature power ups, and one third of the wind. Naturally, all of these are rounded up. Stats look best as integers, as opposed to decimals. Whataya think? Could it work? There's more to it than that, but...that's the basics at the moment. |

It is? Huh. Came up with it yesterday. Spent a good part of the day trying to balance them all. Currently Fire Good AP/SP Bad DP/HP Earth Good AP/DP Bad SP/MP Electric Good SP/MP Bad AP/DP Nature Good HP/DP Bad AP/SP Cold Good HP/MP Bad DP/SP Wind Good HP/SP Bad AP/MP Water Good AP/MP Bad HP/SP Additionally, each sphere utilises a different style. Nature focuses on healing, and is better than the others at it. Fire focuses on offensive abilities, but can hurt the caster (and possibly the casters friends) as well. Earth is a tricky one. Not got that figured out. |

My game has different classes, each has 6 tech tree wind, water ect and you obtained items to level each element and a level in each element would increase a specific stat in addition to whatever points you put into stats when you level. |

Earth could be defensive magic. Going on Suikoden, they have earth spells that up defense, protect from magic attacks for a turn and stuff like that. |

Yeah, that's where I was leaning... But what would its weakness be? I mean, Fire does a lot of damage(most of the spheres), but also hurts the caster a litle. |

Not sure what you mean there, MFD. I was just using fire as an example of strengths and weaknesses. The others I have figured out right now are: Cold:- Depending on the spell used, can weaken attack, defense or speed of caster. However, can also do this to whoever it is cast on. No healing abilities. Nature:- Spells are slow to cast. Slowest of the spheres, actually. However, has the best healing spells in the game, and use can increase attack defense or speed for the duration of the battle. Electric:- Fastest spells in the game. However, they do very little damage. Using these spells too much can tire out a character, forcing them to skip a turn, and reducing their speed. subject to alteration if you can think of something better Wind and water also need a little direction, if you could please help. All that I know about them is: Wind: Focuses on speed and health. Low on attack and magic. Weak attack abilities. Above average healing abilities. Fast spell speed. Above average cost. Water: Focuses on magic and attack. Low on speed and health. Weakest attack abilities. Strong healing abilities. Average spell speed. Below average cost. But would also prefer a side effect to usage of their spells. |

I want a series that goes through different genres as part of a single over-arching plot. Like the first game you might be a gunman in an army, in the second you might be given command of an army and have to do RTS type stuff, then the third game you might be stripped of your command and weapons and have to go through platformer type challenges to put together a small group, then in the fourth you might lead that small group in an RPG type environment, and then in the fifth you would be in retirement and have a baby-raising simulator. That would be awesome! |
