If you didn't like Ciel, Alouette, Harpuia, Leviathan, Fefnir...Well, then I don't know what to say.
Which is more than you can say about the Classic series.... |

Alpha series had a story. Dr. Light's old lab partner Dr. Wily was trying to take over the world using evil robots. Megaman, a former hosekeeping robot was redesigned to stop him. Simple, to the point, made completley sense, and was extremely light on the angst. What more do you want? |

Evolution of the storyline? Seriously, he did the same thing for three games, then tried a gimmick for another four games. |

...Invoking the "Angst" card doesn't help your arguement at all. Dictionary.com says: angst n. A feeling of anxiety or apprehension often accompanied by depression. Which Zero does exactly...um...0 times in a total of four games? |

... It seeped over from the X series. I dunno. Isn't an angst-ridden X the boss of one of the games?

Not really, Copy-X is an overconfident jackass, who thinks he's better than Zero and the Original X put together. |

Did I say Zero had any angst in it? I'm pretty sure I didn't. I said that the classic series was extremely light on the angst. If you want to play that way, jumping at insults that weren't even implied doesn't do much for your arguement. Although if you really want to go that route, out of the stuf I listed (Simple, to the point, made completley sense, and was extremely light on the angst.) I notice that the angst card is the ONLY one you felt the need to defend. |

Never played the Zero games, though this new ZX game is being added to my list of 'reasons to get a DS eventually'. |

If the villain's name is actually Mr. Roboto, I'll buy it. My problem with these series is that there are over 100 games on all sorts of platforms, and I have no idea how much plot I need to know. |

Fair enough. Jumped the gun, I suppose. Can't really blame me though, considering the way people around here wield the 'Angst Bat' like it's some kind of holy weapon. As far as your other points go... Simple? Okay, but I don't *like* my stories simple. For the same reason I'd read 'The DaVinci Code' over the 'The Cat in the Hat', I'd play the Zero series over the Classic. To the point? Well, there's really only *one* point so, it's kinda hard to avoid. Someone's using robots to try to take over the world, exact same story in pretty much every game. Only difference is in who it is, which, by the end of the game, is actually the same person it *always* is. Made complete sense? Well, it never really made sense to me how Dr. Wily convinced himself to do the same thing EIGHT times, but I suppose that's one of those "Eye of the beholder" sort of things. EDIT: MFD, ZX is a brand new series, it'll likely have a vague connection to the previous series (Like with Classic to X and X to Zero) so, now is the time to get in the pool, before Capcom goes sequel-crazy. |

If you think the DaVinci code was better written than The Cat in the Hat, I've got no reason to talk to you. DaVinci code stinks, except in winter when it stinks on ice. |

I saw the history channel documentation on Da Vinci Code, it was intresting and all... but you better not be knocking on The Cat in the Hat... or any other Suess books for that matter. For one thing they all have hidden meanings and are all well written.

I said nothing about better or worse. Only that The Da Vinci Code is decidedly less 'simple' than The Cat in The Hat. |

Not being simple is nowhere close to being the same thing as being good. The more you add to something, the more likely you are to mess it up. |

I tend to find a mixing of the two works best. Like Star Wars works to me because the ideas are simple in it that most people can get but they're deep that you can think about them at the same time. |

You haven't got a GBA or something? ... Thats it, you auto-lose :P. JK, JK. Actually, near as I can tell without having actually played the games, the PSX X games had some of the best gameplay of the lot. Sure, they drove the plot into the ground even worse than the inconsistancies of the SNES games. I still think they were good games. And hey, at least they wern't retardedly easy for the most part. edit: I'd probably have less complaints against the Zero series if I ever bothered to, y'know, use tank and stat enhancing navis that equivilate to the appropriate X items. So..... yeah. Actually, the only game I've played to any realy long extent is Zero1 anyways(which had ideas it just couldn't live up to, it tried too hard methinks). |

I like Galactic Civilizations II. It's a turn based stratagy game like Civilatation but on a huge scale. My current empire has about 200 billion people. And that's on a small map! It has a nice compromise between complexity and useablity. But the best part... You can design the ships you use! It's like the character designer for CoH but with mile long space ships! |
