I got like 8 endings so far... I was having difficulty because I hadent played playstation in at least 6 months...

Shino is only in this game as Hinatas Summon(in 2 moves), but the next one (I know because the Japanese version) has him as a playable character. I was halfway through beating it with Ochimaru when I was forced to leave, won't get to play til monday.

I don't think I know that game though it may be a button pressing cooking game...

To absent minded to remember it...

Wheee!

Almost done with the battle system!

Well, the run, item and rest command are all that's left. The items command is practically the same as the magic one. The run command is essentially a random number generator, and the rest command is, like, two or three lines of code.

Once that is done I'll mock up some characters, enemies, items and spells so some volunteers can test it. That should happen about, say, some point between wednesday and next weekend depending on how things go. Any takers?

Please note that the file will be arriving in a .exe format, so I'll need to email it to you or something.

PaRappa the Rapper, I do believe. Father of the Beat/Tune Games. Never owned it but I played it.

Hey, I have yet another great game idea that I intend to save for waaaay off into the future when I'm more experienced with games design.

(cough)

Okay, you know Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead?

(They are?)

Hmm.

Okay, let's try a different approach...

The Lion King 3? The one that retold the plot of the original from Timon and Pumbas POV?

There we go.

Okay, so imagine an epic RPG where you basically control what would, in a normal circumstance, be an NPC.

Hey now, this is better than you might think.
Consider. How do NPCs know those little tidbits of info? Obviously either someone told them about it, or perhaps, they know from personal experience.

Basically, you play the role of a simple guy(or maybe girl) that is simply trying to live their life, and keep on inadvertantly advancing the plot for a computer controlled main character, by giving them hints about what to do next, retrieving a key item they require, or something like that.

Hell, maybe you even wander into a cave, overhear the main villain and the hero ends up rescuing you!

I think the novelity of the game would be a major selling point. Plus the possibilities for humour would be endless!

So...Yeah, a future project most likely. Maybe in about two years or so I'll try it out.

Hey now, it's not gonna be 'boring'. It's gonna be a fun switch of viewpoints, and will actually involve a good deal of traditional RPG play time. The difference comes in how the plot is presented.

Hmm... If it includes some traditional elements it might be neat, but it feels just sort weak somehow. Who wants to play "Evil Henchmen" if there is a game that lets you be an Evil Genius, and who wants to play Background Character when there are games that let you be The Hero? It might be amusing, but it sounds more like a novelty then a game, like something you point out in your collection and say, "Oh, yeah, that? Really creative game, I bought it because it was really original."

My idea is slightly less original since the Legacy of Kain games seem to do it.

Take a popular game like Zelda OOT, but instead of showing Link or Zelda's quest, show Gannondorf's quest on how he became the top bad guy, or show Bowser actually conquering the Mushroom Kingdom by you being him.

So long as people enjoy it, I'm happy. :^_^:

That's all I care about. All I ever cared about. The money thing is secondary.

And that sort of game would be kinda cool, Alpha.

Dungeon Keeper, Evil Genius, many RTS games that have multiple factions, Fable, all those had an "Origin of Evil" theme to them. A new one I'm looking forward to is Overlord, where you basically control one Overlord that is your main character, but you also control up to 50 Underlings that pillage and rampage, and use whatever gear they can get their hands on from defeted foes. Looks pretty cool.

EDIT: I guess that's a good way to look at it, Drek.

My ultimate goal in life is to make mass amounts of people happy or entertained. Always has been, always will be.

Feel free to suggest improvements to the idea, or concepts I've not mentioned that you think would work. They would be muchly appreciated.

I am a bad bad person.
Malia Weinhagen talking about her father Dave Arneson

"The biggest thing about my dad's world is he wanted people to have fun in life," Weinhagen said. "I think we get distracted by the everyday things you have to do in life and we forget to enjoy life and have fun.

"But my dad never did," she said. "He just wanted people to have fun."
