Spent a little while watching someone new to video games (despite being in college) try to play Link to the past.

I think it literally took him 20 tries to get to zelda - about half of which were spent fighting the morning star guy. Then he died on the one guard you have to kill to get back to the castle proper, and was killed by the morning star guy again. Twice.

I was torn between laughing at him and crying for him... its truly a pitiful sight.

EDIT: you spawn at zelda after reaching her, he was killed within seconds of spawning... for those who didnt realize what happened if you died there. I was personally surprised he'd spawn there.

What was real fun was watching my ex play WindWaker. Such careful, precise, and stiff movements... probably more suited to an RPG than an action game, which requires a nice fluidity.

Yeah, gamers these days have it EASY. Back in my day, games were harder! Actually I can't say this anymore. Despite Wind Waker, games in general have been getting harder, so I can't complain.

I just Defeated Genocide Heart in SaGa Frontier, much easier than Boss X, I can tell you that much, only lost one of Lute's LP.

Fuse had DSC (Dream Super Combo: Sliding, Babel Crumble, Suplex, Giant Swing all in one attack)
Mei-ling had Trick Shot and 2 Gun
T260G was on Healing (Gave him Backpack)
Gen used Headwind and Triple Thrust
Lute used just Headwind

Now the biggest problem is Cave Story related, I keep getting beat by the final boss. (Gauntlet of 3 Battles) Boss, 2nd Boss w/2 Forms, Final Boss (True)

heh, SaGa Frontier. I never got very far in that, but my brother beat it with both Red and Blue and a few others who I forget.

Anywho!

I'm curious: has anyone had a chance to play Dead Rising yet?

No. Sadly, I sold my Xbox360, (made a kickass profit though! Go go shortage!) and have to get another one to play it.

Edit: And yes, fuck BossX. BossX was a fucking hard boss...

But he had the greatest fight music.

They need to re-release Battletoads on every platform just so I can laugh at people when they get to stage 3

Fucking speeder bikes. I think I beat that mission once, and then died in the ice caves. That game was insane.

I made it to the level past the one with the moving snake platforms but then died on the next one because it was a good old-fashioned jetbike level. Again.

Only reason I got so far is down to the method of racking up tons of lives in the second level.

I'm convinced they never even bothered to make a last boss for battletoads simply because they knew nobody would ever get to it.

Anyone tried the gameboy game? It has a sort of biker level of its very own.

no but I clearly remember Battletoads and Double Dragon on the SNES, a cross over that never once made sense to me.

I did get to the final boss through liberal use of slowdown and savestate.

I wouldn't recommend it to people who like their sanity, and have more interesting things to do, like organise all the hair stuck in their comb by length, or watching paint dry.

You guys had to use savestates and slowdowns? I mean, it was hard, but come on...

Edit: Damn enter key

You realized that the point of the game was to destroy it in rage right?!

An hour and a half? That's long then the articles I've seen... Where was it?
