Eh.

Not really.

But items let them create stronger teams, especially with the E4, because the player should have items to even the scales.

you get rest time out of battle against the E4 to use items anyways, and I could create stronger teams without the items, but I spend more time catching/leveling than I do against trainers anyways.

I blaze through trainers, and generally end up at the E4 with a 15+ level gap. Timing use of items is crucial for me.

I generaly meet them on even terms, and use items outside of battle, it's more fun for me that way I guess.

(Q)_< I always thought the computer cheated...so I never had any qualms about using items

As for lvl gaps, It wasnt till on pokemon blue and raising my Blastoise with every battle and rare candy I had to lvl 50 and reaching the E4 that I learned TO LVL MORE THAN ONE DAM POKEMON! I had to go on a desperate search in my storage for pokemon with high enough lvls to stand one hit from theirs.

Don't worry, if the Bison ever take over the midlands Godzilla will take care of them. Just like he did with Bambi.

The only time raising a single Pokemon is a good idea is when that Pokemon is *really* awesome.

Happened on my first Ruby playthrough. Took my level 51 Blaziken and soloed the entire Elite Four + Champion.

I barely made it through Sapphire and I'm only just ready to head to Victory Road on Emerald. Then again I started with Mudkip in Sapphire and didn't being a fire type because all of the fire types had crappy stats in that game.

Eh, my heart still belongs to Charizard. Blazeken never could, at one point in the 1990s, be worth a few Franklins. And money is the one TRUE power.

Money can pay for people who know to teach you or work for you or do whatever is needed for you to benifit from it. And money BUYS armaments.

But knowledge and skill can be used to aquire money and create armaments
and armaments can be used to force other people to give you money, which can pay for scientists or your own education. It all works out.

Psh. Armaments are useless without the money to keep them in the field. The right knowledge, though, can gain you influence, for which money is just a symbol. Religious zeal, political power, a reputation for honesty and hard work, or sheer glamour and persuasiveness can all work just as well as cash in a crisis.

I am suggesting forcibly taking others riches.

Edit: On the other hand, after remembering the Order of the Stick arc on the bandit troup, I remember that such a force isn't feasible or profitable in most respects. Then again, that was in a d&d universe, which is just so radically different from the real world(theres no uber powered heroes roaming around in real life).

One key point as to how money is the ultimate power. Batman. His powers consist of money, training obtained through patience and liberal use of said money, and technology purchased with said money. And he is one of the strongest forces in the DC universe. Would he have such a mind as he does if he was a poor Joe Schmoe? I doubt it.

[EDIT: Weapons are] still a large case of needing some to get some. And use of armaments like that usually draw attention for more powerful and better-armed forces. Except in utter anarchy, or if you are already a top contender, they are way overrated.

Supposedly Wonder Woman is actually the smartest of the Justice League group. Take that with a grain of salt though, as I'm not sure I trust her article.
