Kenshin Dragon Quest(not a console game, comes on its own standalone tv device) looks fun to me considering thats early game territory.

So far, I think my biggest beef with Emerald is the massive level difference between the wild pokémon in the area, and the ones you're about to fight for events (Gym Leaders, your rival, etc.).  For example, the third gym leader:  all his guys are from level 20 to 24.  The wild ones in the surrounding areas?  12-14.  Makes grinding a bitch.

You know, I'd just like to point out that, using the right pokemon, you don't need to be on the same level range as the person you're facing. My pokemon ranged 12-18 when I fought Wattson, and I came out on top, though just barely. The key is to exploit the secondary Steel-type in the magnet pokemon, and have someone you can sacrifice (i.e. not the person dealing with the steels) for the voltorb. Alternatively, lowering the voltorb's accuracy/raising your evasiveness helps too, and there's nothing more satisfying to watch than explosion missing. Ideally, a fire-type like combusken is best for this battle.

I've been thinking. I have four members of what I plan on my end team being (Blade the seedot/nuzleaf/shiftry, Fawkes the torchic/combusken/blaziken, Dot the aron/lairon/aggron, and Tango the ralts/kirlia/gardevoir), and none of them are electric. I tought Dot shockwave, but it won't be really useful until Dot evolves into a lairon. Are manectrics any good? 'Cause I have an electrike in my PC.

The sixth spot will eventually be rounded out with trapinch/vibrava/flygon, making an all-Ruby team.

EDIT: Also, who is the Winstrate son? Is it Wallace?

I had a Manetric for a while.

He's pretty good, but don't give him alot of physical moves.

Also, it's ability "Static" is very useful for those who want to physically attack you.

Yeah, I have to check on abilities, since he can apparently have Lightning Rod (draws electric attacks to him in 2v2 battles) instead of Static on occasion.

Also, give the Gardevoir Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Psychic, and Calm Mind.

Best damn moveset EVER.

I'll keep that in mind.

Also, according to wiki, the Gorons have made... a FEW technological advancements.

Which apparently, according to the picture I just linked, is code for steampunk-cyborg-Gorons.

EDIT: This game's release date could not be farther from today.

... I'm not sure if that's cooler or dumber then before, since it has elements of both...

Cooler than before...? You mean cooler than the Gorons in Ocarina/Majora?

I kinda want to see this steampunk dungeon I've heard about, called the Goron Mines.

... What other Gorons were there? Unless there was some other race in a Zelda game, known as the Gorons, that I missed, yes, that's exactly who I meant.

On the one hand, the sort of Steampunk upgrade seems like an awsome addition to Zelda.

... On the other, the Gorons? What the hell? I mean, I guess they're sort of like Zelda's version of dwarves, but it doesn't make any sense for them to suddenly go steampunk.

It's been implied that the Zoras are also getting a makeover. I'm thinking either mages or genetic enhancements.

And I'm assuming that it will either make sense in time, or make as much sense as a race of organic beings who subsist on Rocks, and grow organic explosives.

Dwarves using magic; now that's a sight rarely seen.

Genetic enhancements sounds like making the Zora more Lovecraftian... But making them magical just makes them into water elves. I'd be curious as to how that turns out.

And Arcanum had dwarves that used magic. They weren't as good at the start, but they could become as good as anyone by the end.

EDIT: In Shadowrun, Dwarves actually have a minor advantage as mages because they have higher WIL then the other races, but that's getting away from Video Games.

I think I recall the old Palladium book I have saying the dwarves in there used to be sweetass mages, but then they and the elves (surprise!) got all pissed at one another and destoryed the world or something. But everyone got better and then the dwarves decided not to use magic or some crap.

But yes. Video games.

Now I think I'm having the opposite problem in Emerald than before... I think my guys might be hitting level 30 and above before I can get the next badge (which allows me to control any pokémon up to level 50... at the moment, once they hit 30, they might not listen to me, the shits).

Is it? I've never actually had this problem in the older games, so I've never known for certain...
