Okay, I forgot about this thread, and tried to post my own topic on Phantom Brave, which (extremely promptly, like almost instantly) got locked or deleted or something.

So, I'll start here:

beware, spoilers:

Who here has played Phantom Brave? Clearly Jogurt has, since last time I was here h(is? er?) avvy was a Fusionist.

So, anyway, and here come the spoilers:

I think it's great how after you beat the game, you can unlock Laharl, Etna, Flonne (fallen angel form), Mid-Boss, and prinnies (although technically, with the right level DungeonMonk, you could unlock those much earlier) by beating certain extra maps. That's all I can think of right now, other than how the ending rocked (I actually almost cried when I thought Ash was going to be gone, locking up Sulphur, and I rarely if ever cry, or even come close.

Anyone else who's played it, discuss. Those who haven't, either ignore us or read along, but beware of spoilers.

I'll reiterate that you guys are allergic to new threads...

Honestly, if you're are going to be chatting about spoilers, I don't see why it can't have it's own thread to make the spoilers easier to avoid.

That said, I haven't played the game and can't contribute.

Following the long threads is sometimes headache-inducing...

Don't see why we can't have a few, smaller, topic-oriented threads floating around...

...yes, I realize that by saying this I'm off-topic...

Wooooooo! Finally beat Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater after three long days.

Metal Gear Solid 1 was a really good game.
Metal Gear Solid 2 was a really crappy movie.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is the best damn thing I've played in years. It might even top FFVI as bestest game ever. Never before has a game so perfectly combined movie and game into one package. The last roughly fourth of the game will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time, and the plot twists don't feel idiotic and contrived. It was like Kojima had a George Lucas moment, then said, "What am I doing?!" and promptly made it up to the fans with this game.

If you have a PS2, buy this game now. If you don't have a PS2... Buy a PS2, and then buy this game immediatly.

My roommate bought it, then left it at a friends place over the break.

I don't know if I can bring myself to play it though, MGS2 dissapointed me more than FF8...

My view of Squaresoft is steadily going downhill, between Unlimited Saga, FF8, FFX, FFX-2... I just don't think I can continue supporting them...

Blizzard on the other hand has made me their Whore by never dissapointing me, ever. I will probably buy every Blizzard game that comes out, though not necesarially immediatly (not willing to pay 50 for SCG, willing to pay 20 though).

In terms of companies I'm an unrelenting fan of, thanks to several great games over the past few years, I am slowly becoming a huge fan of Namco. Between the RPG goodness of Xenosaga, Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos, and the coolness of Taiko Drum Master and Katamari Damacy, Namco is definitely one of my favorites.

As for MGS3, I'm gonna buy it tomorrow when I go to get FMA: Broken Angel. The reason I'm gonna buy it is because I'm one of the few people that WASN'T disappointed by MGS2.
