I thought only a limited number of players were allowed to roll jedi.

And I'm not opposed to keeping your Jedi-ness a secret. Certainly seeing legions of Jedi named standing around talking in leet would suck, as would having every other character being a Jedi or Sith. But to me Star Wars is essentially a vehicle to have the Jedi and Sith. The ships and stuff are cool but force users are the only thing that is really unique to the series. And they are where the focus of games should lay.

But more than that... I just like watching lightsabers duels.

I actually have a response for that, but explaining it would put me into illegal levels of geek.

And there is a LOT more to the Star Wars universe then just Jedi. Even the Jedi have been done before in other mediums to one degree or another, so it's not just "A vehicle for the Jedi and Sith". Personally, I like seeing the "Mundane" parts of the Star Wars universe, the regular troops battling back and forth, starship battles and the like. If you make it nothing but "Star Jedi", then it cheapens the other characters, and makes the Jedi nothing special. If you just want something where you can run around with a million other Jedi, play SWG now since Jedi is a starting class anyone can take.

How it worked before was you worked with your first character to unlock a "Jedi Character Slot". When you made a new character using this slot, that character started with Force Powers, and could learn to improve them over time. However, this character suffered from Perma-Death, and if they were killed a certain number of times the character was deleted and you had to make a new Jedi. To make this harder, if a Jedi was discovered, a bounty could be put on them so Bounty Hunters would try to track him down and kill him, thus the importance of keeping your powers secret, or only using them in front of people you trust.

No, playing a Non-Jedi gave you the chance to get a Jedi. Once it opened, it was permenantly opened, and even if your Jedi died you could make a new one, but yes, there was a Perma Death system in place on Jedi characters. Regular characters were not subject to Perma Death.

Which was both awesome and annoying as hell, I imagine. Looots of praise and bitching. I guess the bitching just got too loud.

Actually, all the bitching was because no one had any idea how to unlock the Jedi Slot in the first place, and it turned out after about six months, that the system for unlocking Jedi had been broken the whole time and wasn't allowing anyone to become a Jedi. After it got fixed, more details on how to become a jedi were revealed and order was restored to the universe.

Heheheh.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't know how to use the Buster Edit at first, either. Then again, I don't really like Fx form that much.

Standing still = teh suck.

Well, the Jedi keeps the button pressed the entire time, I believe. It's a pressure sensitive switch. Throwing a lightsabre with the Force not only guides the sabre, but holds the button down.

Eh.

If I want distance damage, I'll just use X-form.

And on a related note, just finished wiping up Prometheus in Hard Mode. Wasn't nearly as tough as I was expecting. They didn't add any tweaks to his moves at all, which is strange, considiering they did that for all the Pseudoroids.

Beta Ray Bill is a horse-headed alien monster guy who was able to lift Thor's hammer.

I always thought he was nobler then Thor.

Though his relationship with the human looking girl was... Special.

As special as a relationship between a woman and horse can be.
