Then assuming you can't think of anything else to do thats more appealing, what you really need is motivation to self improve.

Thats subject to philosophy, not sure I can ethically help you with that unless we agreed on a philosophy. I suppose you could tell me your philosophy(no doubt I'll have questions) and we could work under those assumptions on finding that motive, but its up to you.

As Aristotle(or was it Socrates?) would say, what would you rather do?

I do lack a bit of motivation, but I also know that chances are I will never have a desire to hold the worlds record for a time trial in Mario Kart so I gather up my freinds and race and screw off with it.

When something I need to be serious with comes up, I slow down and look at the situation before even starting anything.

Hehe, no one every said practicing self improvement would lead to becoming the best(well ok, they did, but I didn't). Physics is a bastard like that but still, one needs a goal, a belief, a reason to act.

... Hanging out with friends is a good one, I do it too.

I don't let the impossibility of reaching the top stop me from trying the other at the same time, however.

edit: I suppose when you get right down to it, we're really interested in those shallow psychological rewards huh? Oh well, never said I was a self-sacrificing hero.

The best speedrunners always memorize the routes, which is no fun for me. Another challenge can be beat the game with item restrections. For instance I've beaten Zelda: A Link to the Past without gettign any unnecisary items, and without dying, but not both in one play. That's would be tougher than I can manage without any extra hearts or bottles.

Some people play through RPGs without using consumable items, or keeping initial equips, or such things. And it's a real painchallenge to get through Mario 1, 2j, 3, or world without grabbing even a mushroom.
Hey, the comic seems to be updating kind of regularly. Maybe we should vote to spread the word.

Bah I go through most Final Fantasys without the Use of Items save Pheonix Downs and I could manage without those too. Which is what I think causes the easyness of RPGs being able to give any character in the game the ability to heal/revive/undo Status Effects in the middle of a battle without any real cost.

Wouldn't you be effictively shut out of the special zone? Or are P balloons ok?
edit: ah nm, you didn't mention world.

That is a ludicrously easy task. I tend not to use items ANYWAYS.

Although recently, I have taken a more utilitarian approach with RPGs.
edit: Oh god, meteos sold out to disney, and didn't even include wifi.

But... the improvements sound good!

Yeah, I wasn't too clear.

The graphics changes are crap. The gameplay changes, I think I like.
From the video, it seems like they've essentially added level based scalability of the dragable zone, which is good.

You know what I want? A level downloading service. That would be cool.

Also it appears that you can get an "ability" with your character.

Sounds good.

Eh, the Mouse already has digimon and power rangers, so my childhood is already Walt's. They are slowly dragging Squenix in, so they're taking my tween years. Whats a few key developmental years more?

Then they go from ruining my childhood to ruining my life, and I have plausible deniability for hunting their executives down with a machete.
Only five years left!
