Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption was, successfully, the biggest dissapointment of the year. One of the main things I was looking forward to in it was getting to mess around with a Eclipse class Super Star Destroyer (It was the size of a Super Star Destroyer, and was equipped with a smaller version of the Superlaser that could shatter a continent in one blast). The videos showed the Eclipse, the back of the box shows the Eclipse, even the friggin' game manual shows the Eclipse in there. So I fire up a game and play through... Nothing. After doing some research, it turns out the Eclipse is, in fact, NOT a playable unit, and is only given to you in the last mission of the campaign game, and even then it's only partially built and only runs for half the mission through scripting. I'm most displeased. |

I hate it when games fake you out like that. Also, I think they misunderstand the point of a 'sub'-title, there. |

I couldn't remember if there was a colan between Star Wars and Empire at War or not... And it really is frustrating. The Eclipse was a large part of the advertising campaign for the game (Common rumor was that the Underworld faction would get it as a counter to the Super Star Destroyer the Empire gets), so taking it away just feels like a case of sadistic bait-and-switch. I'm still messing around with it some (Even with that loss, it's not bad), but I'm not quite as excited as I was at first. I'm playing more Sword of the Stars now. Which, helpful hint from SotS: Never, ever do research into making a sentient AI. The little fucker will always rebel on you, taking over a couple of your planets in the process. I mean, who could have seen that happening, an AI going rogue and turning on it's masters? Certainly not me! There was no warning! |

Just unlocked Blade in Ultimate Alliance by freeing him from a giant claw machine in Murderworld. Next is Ghostrider, which is great because it means we're all going to hell! |

You know SOMEONE will make a modification to fix that. I had a similar experience with Operation Flashpoint. I WANT TO LAUNCH THE DAMMED SKUD! Spawn it in the editor, set it up, launch. Nothing happens. Find the action code to allow you to set coordinates online. Im still looking for something that will give the battleship fuel and ammo |

I played the Demo of that last week, I am sorta dissapointed in the lack of Big Killing Machine that you say, but I like the game itself, I may get the original and the expansion. |

Speaking of Demo's, I ordered UT 2004 seeing it was only $10 now, got too impatient in the first 5 minutes of waiting for it and downloaded a demo. Assault remains my favorite mode, even with Onslaught |

I'm kinda divided on this, but here goes. I am thinking of just saying "Screw the rpgtoolkit" and starting again on rpgmaker. I'm really liking the system. It's a lot more slick and professional, even if I would have to learn exactly how to do stuff. And remake every damned thing. But, now that I know the sort of thing I'm looking for, it would be a hell of a lot easier. What says you guys? |

Go for it. I know that system better anyway so I'd be able to help a bit more. |

Okay, consider it done. I'll remake the initial opening scene tonight at some point, and then move onto the town once coursework is dealt with. An Rpg maker version should be up by christmas. If I am lucky. Ah, did you get the chance to try out the battle system, perchance? Or did the horrible, horrible slowdown annoy you too much by that point? |

I ask 'cause that may be the same sorta thing I ultimately use. The rpgmaker has a fine battle system, but it would be silly to just use the default on everything. And unimaginative. Right...Best learn how to script in that. |

Decisions decisions. Should I import the same graphical style as the toolkit version of the game, or just use the default stuff that came with the rpgmaker? |

Import. Don't use default if you can avoid it. If you don't think you can avoid it, as me and I'd be able to find you stuff that you could use in place of default. |

Alright, thanks for the advice. Although the sprites are gonna come up kinda small in comparison to the default. Heh. I can live with that, though. Ah! One other question. You noticed the poses I had done? Is it possible to import those into the RPGmaker too? How would I use them? |
