Buy American console and games. Hey think about it, you speak the same bloody language! Unless of course the outless wouldn't let it work, but that's solvable too. |

I'm not overly convinced that you'd save that much, coupled with the fact that the machines are on different standards, it probably wouldn't work. |

You'd save probably at least a hundred bucks. |

Which is, like...£50. A saving is a saving. But the regional stuff is enough to keep me at bay. |

Assuming that you buy it and are capable of feeling joy while overcoming frustration, yes, yes I can. Of course, that first criteria Given that you've read reviews, I'm sure you know the basic concept, the raw mechanics of the game. Of taping, drawing, spinning and timing. Of the silly concept and raw, "stream of consciousness" humor and design. Disregard that knowledge. Without feeling the game firsthand, without the challenge to overcome, or the joy of victory, those instructions are meaningless. Only by playing the game will those fragments of knowledge ever know focus. It reminds me a lot of Katamari Damacy, in its way. Like that game, just learning the mechanics and goals doesn't give you a great picture of the game, but in the act of playing it, you may find an elusive nugget of gaming bliss. Of course, again like that game, it's not for everyone. You'll either "click" with it, or wind up wondering why you wasted your money. It also doesn't help that the game is seriously unforgiving, to the point of creating an all frustrating wall. Should you have the chance to try, by borrowing a copy from a friend, or if someplace in your area rents DS titles, I would insist you do so. Of course, I've not heard of a single store that rents them, and friends are fickle creatures, so this may very well be impossible. Not a very good sales pitch, is it? Maybe my favorite game journalist can convince you better. I hope this will be able to convince you that there's something very special in this game. I truly wish everyone could learn to enjoy EBA: Experiences like it come all too rarely in gaming. |

I've heard of a glitch in DQ2 involving Hargon's minions, if you lose to them don't save, they won't return to his castle. AKA: Use Emulator save states after losing. |

Oh, right. I kinda' forgot that like, twenty awesome games are released for that console every week or so. Don't forget about the new Castlevania... Or the new Yoshi's Island. Or FF3. Plus, we're a week away from a double launchageddon. Uh, in that case... Uh... Well, in that case, I guess it just comes down to which genre you prefer: Rythym/music action, action-adventure, puzzle, adventure, rpg, more action, more adventure, or an entirely new gameplay experience? Plus, eating, sleeping, bathing, and keeping the lights on and a roof above your head. ...When the fuck did games become so complicated?! ...Or the new Phoenix Wright. |

Lessee... I've heard Drakengard 2 is better in every way than Drakengard 1, and Drakengard 1 was pretty fun, except for like... the entire plot. That was just messed up. EBA: I was considering getting it, but as I got down to the store, the fat greasey store clerk (you know, all the worst negative visual stereotypes of nerds) was ringing the copy up for himself. And then he spent the next five minutes on his cell phone. Fortunately, he wasn't the only clerk, and I decided to get FF5 Advanced. FFVA! If you never got the PSX version, get this. If you did, then still get this. It's entirely retranslated, and has a lack of annoying loading times, and doesn't fuck up in the DS like it did in the PS2. And did I mention it's entirely retranslated? It's like a whole new game. Plus, it isn't glitchy like FFIVA. It's also got a quick save, for ease of play on the go without the broken save anywhere that FF1A had. |
