Although they do seem like a fusion of Ben Grimm and The Big Book O' African Steriotypes, most Jamacians are black. So it still all works out. Except for their newfound baffling love of hot springs and sumo. |

I read on gameFAQs that if you skip the dialogue that's exactly what happens. :\ Dunno how to fix it. |

Okay then... I have a character who is, to all intents and purposes, a healer. This healer can have one of seven classes, but I was wondering if they were balanced or not. That is to say, each has some advantage and disadvantage of use. I'd like to know what you think. Here are the seven classes. Healer:- Like a white mage, really. Specialises in recovering HP, but also has spells that remove status effects or revive a character. Although these spells are either not as effective or cost more MP to use when compared to their counterparts in other classes. Cleric:- Specialises in revival spells, but also has a few spells like Holy that inflict damage. Basic status effect and health recovery, but they are pretty bare bones. Doctor:- This one is interesting, as it relies upon item usage. Basically, the spells don't use MP, but instead make better use out of an item than it would normally be capable of. The item used and the effect depend on the skill, naturally. Most of them deal with status effects, but there are all sorts of different effects here. Therapist:- Another oddity here. This particular class is kinda like a cross between healer & doctor, making use of items and magic to create even more powerful effects. This is both a drawback and an advantage, though, as you will be spending both the MP and the item instead of one or the other. Saint:- A cross between healer and cleric. The combination of the two classes result in a powerful class capable of good levels of recovery and revival. It learns absolutely no offensive spells, however. Priest:- A cross between cleric and doctor. The skillset is kinda like the clerics with a few add ons (and a few things taken away). For instance, this class learns a few spells that require the use of an item to activate. Again, these depend on both MP and the item to activate. The item in question being holy water in all cases, though. Of course, some of these spells are offensive in nature. Angel:- A three way tie between cleric, doctor and healer. How it works is kinda like how a redmage works. This class learns all the basic skills of each class, but not the more complicated ones of any of them. Right, that's pretty much how it stands as it is... I'd like to hear opinions on this. Or questions if you feel that's not enough info. |

They all kinda crossover, which is good, however... I'd suggest adding the ability to deal melee damage/wear heavy armor to mix it up a bit and help some classes, like Angel, stand out a bit more. |

Interesting. You're actually the second person to comment that it's not all that great a class. So, uh, let's see what I can do about that special ability thing. Uh... Perhaps recovery of small amounts of MP each turn? That might work. Any other classes you think need more attention drawn towards them? |

In order to balance them better, I'd have the doctor able to use more damaging weapons that miost healers, not heavy axes or anything, but thinks like pistols or crossbows would fit. Therapist honestly seems kinda redundant. Angel I'd defintley give the heaviest weapons and armor to. |

The thing with hybrids, and by hybrid I mean something that does multiple things, but not as well as a base class, is that you walk a fine line. If they don't do anything particularly well, it's pointless not to just use the base class. If they do it *too* well, it's pointless to use the base class. Jack-of-all trade characters really need something other than just their utility to round them out. MP Recovery spells (or an per-turn aura, as you suggested) would go a long way to helping Angel out. I agree with Alan on Therapist, there just doesn't seem like much of a reason to use him, his twist seems wasteful at best, crippling at worst. Saint might also want some basic buff spells, as otherwise, he'll just kinda stand there taking up space until somebody gets hit/dies. |

Marathoned the eighth and ninth dungeon in TP, and now it's over. Nine dungeons is... equal to Ocarina even if it's not the most dungeons ever (why, hello A LttP and your whopping 11 dungeons). The key to TP is that you find yourself spending alot more time trying to make it to the dungeon than in previous games, I found. Which is a nice touch. No sub-dungeons, unless you count pulling back the veil of Twilight covering each province, and I don't. Fucking SWEET-ass final battles. Oh, BDD? If you're still stuck on Zant, try using the item you found in the dungeon Zant has you fighting in. God, I was waiting for that prancing fairy to die so Ganon could make with his evil. Also, a bit disappointed with the lack of a Hero's Quest. On the other hand, I'm grateful they didn't pull a Wind Waker and grant Link a costume change for a second playthrough that is honestly not different enough. I still have plenty of sidequests left, with wallets to find, quivers to enlarge, funds and charities to donate to, and heart pieces. Oh, and the last bottle. Hyrule is truly a wonderful place to play around in, especially this time around. Even though it is reminiscent of Middle Earth, that's not necessarily a bad thing. |

You can also have it so that a certain classes (except the base class) can remove a particular status effect with no cost or something to that effect. Or a therapist would remove things leaning towards mental statuses and the doctor would heal physical ailments |
