...Which is another interesting idea to itself. Not sure how to implement that one, really, but it might be worth a try. In fact, I might try to do both. See how that turns out.

Surely a players row would be an accessable parameter?

just a slight reminder :D

Yeah, it would be, but the trick is that I would need to find some way to indicate whether or not the enemy can attack the given row. Which would be difficult to do, as it would require accessing the database.

And excessive DB hits violates the KISS principle :P

Yeah, exactly. I can kinda keep it simple with the other stuff because at most it requires alterations to the script to pull off, but the enemies thing requires a lot more effort. It can also be done in the script, but would require a massive select case, that would check through each enemy in the game.

Well, couldn't you limit the select statement to the monsters in the battle? I mean, its still a DB hit, but not as big..

The DB has a rigid structure. It won't allow changes. If you need to do something to the DB, it has to be done through the script using stuff like a select case, or creative use of what the DB already can do. Like relying on elements or status effects to get the job done.

I've never heard of a DB that doesn't allow flexible Select statements

(Sigh)

Look, I understand your confusion. Honest.

But the DB came with RPG Maker, and the GUI that comes with it is designed to work with the DB provided. This means that changing it makes it harder to use. In fact, I don't even know if it can be changed.

Hmm. That's an idea, actually. I'll use a blank project, and try to figure out a way to change the DB structure of that one, and see if it works.

Don't worry, if the Bison ever take over the midlands Godzilla will take care of them. Just like he did with Bambi.

Either or is really not very necessary anyways. Just live with the limitation I guess.

Oh, I have been very creative in making use of the DB and the scripting thus far. Don't you worry about that.

Eh, I like the ideas, really. So...I think I will use them.

Wow... You have my sympathies working with that, then...

Question.
Well, y'see, due to a misunderstanding, I thouhgt I had $200 less in my bank account than I actually did. So, instead of buying a wii wiht my channukah cash, I bouhgt some games including the Gamecube version of twilight princess. Now I have found out about that $200.

Here is my question. Should I, already in posession of gamecube Twilihgt Princess and up to the fifth dungeon, sell it and purchase the wii version upon my iminent purchase of said console of perfection?

Still, any advice? Should I finish my gamecube version, or scrap it and start anew on Wii?

Matters is pinpoint accuracy with the projectiles worth the extra work?
