Just a few things I would like to say about the Zelda stuff thats going on in the Nerd Fantasy Fights thread and will go into deep symbolism and analytical crap by viewing the games as a world all on their own. Wanning, don't read if you reject the analysis before reading a word of it. (Most likely you all but I won't view you so Stereotypical. )Link, being similar looking in most all the games, impels something about the "hero" as a symbol of hope which is given to a down-trodden kingdom. As with Zelda and Gannon as a princess in peril and a power hungry being respectively. The reason they look the same/are reincarnations could be simply in an ongoing experiment of the gods as explained below in my theory. The trices seem to be 2 things, a symbol of what each of their owners obtained and the physical ejects that hold some of the powers of the 3 goddesses. The Trefor's symbols that the respective characters also means 2 thing in its own right, the respective roles IE. savior, freedom, and destruction connecting to courage, wisdom, and power respectively. Generic savior saving freedom from destruction. The other meaning that can be diverged from this is they are the gifts from the 3 known gods of the Zelda realm to whoever shows the greatest amount of ability to wield that power relating to their section of the triforce. Hence the people the are attached to: courage-person who overwhelmingly feels they need to save their world, wisdom- person who feels desperately want to rule justly, and power- person who desires, can, and will get all power they can lay their hands on. Theory time: The 3 goddesses (please remind me who they are), wanting to understand the full courage more, decided to set up an experiment or game with 3 pieces almost always at different starting points then observe how the one with courage to obtain his designated goal. During the course of their studies they observe each of their respective "pawn" and change its blessing in accordance to when they lose the primary trait that connects them to their triforce piece. I.E. Link losing his courage and his triforce vanishes, Zelda (spoilers) passing her wisdom to Minda and Gannon being defeated. I think thats enough Symbolic speak for one post. Sorry for the seriousness. Edit: Cleared up spelling. |

Spelling is not grammar. Other then that it seemed like it was fine. They carry the same meanings in ether form. ![]() Edit Plus I didn't use the speller on that post itself.

Another Legend of Zelda theory time. Its a Castlevania style "cyclical" rebirth thing. Ganon, having Power and life being power, is immortal. This is evidenced by the fact that he astrally projects several times, dies, etc, and keeps the Triforce of power. Whenever he begins to become active again, his body escaping restraints, soul beginning to wander, or the Trident being close to being found, the Triforces of Courage and Wisdom, in their bearers in the afterlife, resonate and are pulled towards it in an attempt to rejoin (the split was an emergency temporary thing, after all. Not meant to be permanent). THis drags Link and Zelda back to life via reincarnation. Each Link figures this out by the end of his life, scattering and hiding his equipment, leaving hints, and overall trying to make it easier on himself next time (this last part is suggested by the presence of Link's sword, shield, and maybe bloodling on OUTSET island. WHy else name it? It was founded to raise a Link). Furthermore, the pointy ears of hylians was fueled by the triforce in the Sacred Relm, and each time a Link and Zelda are born, it drains a lot of the power left to make hylians. How do I know? Because after OoT, humans randomly began appearing, and they all first appeared centered around the site of the next Link birth, suggesting that to power his birth took all of their pointy ears. By the end, only special important people had the Ears. Finally, don't try to figure out how the map shifts between games works. Ow, my head. |

I gave up thinking about Zelda and its storylines for the same reason that most people give up on doing the same thing for FF. Sure, there are a lot of similarities between the games, and it makes it easier on the human mind if there is a story connecting these games, but there's not. Not many games in the genre actually take the sequels as happening in the same universe as before. Anyway, having said that. The map shift can be explained perfectly reasonably. It occurs after the resolution of a conflict over the Triforce. Here's how it could be explained, theoretically. Think about how much magic is being thrown around during the course of your average Zelda adventure. It would be reasonable to assume that the world is gradually changed by the steady release of magic into a new form. Much like how Ganondorf transforms himself, you see. Not that I subscribe to this theory of course. I'm just putting it forward for you to mull over... |

I have my "hardware theory" it basically goes. "Past systems weren't powerful enough or weren't utilized as well to create the current version of hyrule, the end" |

No, we mean how Zora's Domain goes from one side of Death Mountain to the other, Spectacle Rock is inside the mountain, then in front, then at the other side of the ocean, the Temple of Time is just wonky, and the Forest seems to bounce around like a Superball, yet the ruins and spells within remain. Not to mention how mountains shift in and out of the valley that is Hyrule like they're in a geologic square dance or something. |

It's a legend. 'Sall I'll say on the matter. 'Course the details are a bit hazy, but they're all the mythology of a modern day Hyrule. Found WarioWare: Smooth Moves, and I just unlocked the multiplayer. Up to twelve players using only one remote? Sweet... |

Yup. I mean, you can't use four remotes and have 48 players, but you CAN have up to 12. You only use the one remote, though. IT'S PARTY TIME. Also, I love how you can use your Miis, and more random Miis pop up in the game from your console. |

12 Players...? 1 Remote...? That's like contradictory to every thing Nintendo stands for! Back in *my* day, everyone had to shell out $99 for a GBASP, and another $15 for the Link cable, not to mention another $30 for the inevitable GBA game! Man, with stuff like this 'One remote' bullshit, PS3s got this gen in the bag, man. Game over, Nintendo, game over... *snicker* Joking aside, that's so beyond fucking awesome, and I heartily approve. |
