It's the same BAB used by clerics.

I simply didn't bother to put anything beyond the primary since most people assume that a 15 will be followed by a 10 and a 5.

And I blame the crappy formatting on the lack of a decent table tag.

The Spellbaker
Main Abilities: Wis is the most important for recipes representing how well a spellbaker KNOWS their recipes. Dex is important for maneuverability in the kitchen and on the battlefield. Con is important for surviving a Spellbakers attempts at creating new, innovative dishes. Int is helpful in creating new recipes and for adding skill points to their cooking skills.
HD: D6
Alignment: Any Non Chaotic

Class Skills: Balance (Dex), Concentration (Con), Craft (Cooking)(Int), Craft (Kitchenware)(Int), Decipher Script (Int), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (Chemistry), Knowledge(Arcana), Listen (Wis), Profession (Baker), Spellcraft (Int), Use Magic Device (Int)
Skill points at 1st: (6+Int) x4
Skill points for each additional: 6+Int

Class Features
Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: Spellbakers are proficient with Light Armor (which come in the form of aprons but have the same stats as listed armors), and are proficient with weapons from the “Kitchen List”. They also have Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Pastry).

Recipes: A Spellbaker is a spellcaster whose magical talents appear through their culinary concotions; imbuing their foods with magical spells and effects. Spellbakers use cookbooks in much the same way that wizards use spellbooks, but every level they may choose one recipe as a “favorite” which they may prepare without a cookbook, so a level 1 Spellbaker would have one favorite recipe, while a level 12 Spellbaker would have twelve, but a Spellbaker/Cleric with a character level of 8 and two ranks in Cleric would only have six favorite recipes.

Magical Baking: Your spellbaker has learned the art of replacing spell components with edible ingredients.

Use Kitchen: Your spellbaker knows their way around a kitchen very well, and this is reflected by a +2 to all rolls except for damage made while in a kitchen.

Spellbake Cookie: Spellcookies can hold 0 and 1st level spells.

Scribe Cookbook: Your spellbaker has realized the importance of writing down their recipes for later use. Any recipe on the Spellbaker list which they meet the level requirements for can be added to the cookbook with a successful spellcraft check.

Baker’s Focus Fire:
Fire Resistance + 5
Fire Resistance +10
Fire Resistance +15
Fire Immunity
Fire Subtype

Baker’s Focus Poison:
Poison Resistance +5
Poison Resistance +10
Poison Resistance +15
Poison Immunity
Onion Breath

Baker’s Focus Heating:
Heat Metal 1/day
Heat Metal 3/day
Heat Metal 15 ft
Heat Metal 5/day
Heat Metal 30 ft

Baker’s Focus Bonus:
Bonus Feat
Bonus Feat
Bonus Feat

Onion Breath: Your spellbaker really needs to brush their teeth. Like, badly. It’s so bad, that you can make a breath attack as a move equivalent action three times a day which deals a -2 penalty to hit.

Spellbake Bread: Spellbreads can hold 2nd and 3rd level spells.

Mix Familiar (tiny): Your spellbaker can mix magical batter and then charge it with an energy which brings it to life and preserves it from going bad. Treat the familiar as a gray ooze, except with only 1 HD, no transparency, no fire immunity, and fire damage acts as the flesh to stone spell.

Craft Magical Kitchenware: It’s depressing. Not many stores have +1 Rolling Pins for sale. Fortunately, you can craft your own now. Follow normal crafting rules.

The Kitchen IS My Weapon: You now have automatic weapon proficiency for anything that you find in a kitchen. No cheating and leaving a katana in there simply to use this ability though. Sorry.

Small Familiar: You can add batter to your familiar and bump it up to Small size. Add 2 HD. If it is reduced to 15 health, it becomes Tiny again.

Universal Pastry: Sometimes you don’t know what flavor of spell you’re going to need, and so you have learned how to prepare a pastry batter which can quickly be converted into any spell. Unfortunately, since it’s not baked, this batter won’t keep very long. You think that this is so useful though, that you’ve even made your familiar out of this batter. You can deal 1d6 damage to your familiar to get 1d4 universal cookies, 1d3 universal breads, 1d2 universal pies, or one universal cake.

Spellbake Pie: Spellpies can hold 4th and 5th level spells.

Retain Reserve: Don’t you hate it when you spend xp on a pastry, only to realize you didn’t really need it? Well, now you can eat the pastry and put the xp into your reserve instead of activating the effect of the pastry.

Cook Golem: You can now craft a bread golem.

Baker’s Dozen: Once per day, you may add a d6 to any one roll.

Spellbake Cake: Spellcakes can hold 6th level spells.

Medium Familiar: You can add 1d2+1 HD to your familiar and make it Medium size. If it is reduced to 30 health, it becomes Small again.

Large Familiar: You can add 1d2+1 HD to your familiar and make it Large size. If it is reduced to 45 health, it becomes Medium again.

I don't have the list of feats on me; the friend I was working on this with has those, and some of it needs to be reworded to prevent jackassery, also the bread golem needs stats, but it's nearly done. Just needs those last few touches.

EDIT: We also need to write the kitchen list and spell list.

As a side note, we're going to be trying to introduce this class to a pirates campaign. We figure the character will be the ship's cook.

Just kidding.

I like it.

...why don't they get bonus damage while in a kitchen?

A kitchen is full of all sorts of dangerous stuff and potential collateral damage. I'm sure if they know the territory they could do all sorts of nasty tricks in a kitchen.

Some of the bonus feats need to be phrased differently (and a list of kitchenware will probably be necessary, with anything additional being the GM's call. I'd imagine for the baker's own kitchen, he would have to actually purchase everything in it, or have someone it was provided by, so every item would be listed prior to any encounter)... but otherwise, it's actually not a bad class.

And are you sure that's the same attack progression as clerics? 3/4... can't quite remember, but whatever.

If the player can describe said nasty tricks to the GM, then depending on the GM they might let you put that under The Kitchen IS My Weapon.

The Kitchen Use ability is more to show that they can do a better job of cooking in a real kitchen than in some patchjob field dealie.

Yeah, that's the stuff that my friend and I are going to be working on tonight.

And somewhere, Notty is crying because that means I'm doing that instead of advancing plot.

If that isn't the cleric progression, I need to change that table so that it matches the cleric.

So... this looks like it could be good.

Kind of reminds me of Atelier Iris, which I enjoyed a lot.

Uh-huh. I can't think of anything more that needs to be done on the darned first section of the game now. I'd play through it to see if it's fun, but to be honest, I've fallen into that same old trap that most developers do: I can no longer play the game with an objective eye.

I'm willing to bet that certain key values are slightly off(enemy stats, prices...), but it would be best if someone else played through it. If you wanna, then let me know and I'll email you the thing. It would be best if you pm'd me in this regard.

I'm up for it. Not got much else to do for the next couple of weeks now that I've handed in all my work.

I got a Wii tuesday. It took buying two games with it, as well as a customer extortion racke- I mean... "customer protection plan" (which was, fortunately, only $30) in order to reserve it, as well as taking a bus downtown while being sick, but I got one. It is possible...

Havn't had time to sit down and play Twilight Princess, but Wii Sports is pretty fun, and Wario Ware: Smooth Moves is fucking awesome. Especially with other people around. Flailing around like a monkey is fun for all! Plus, the multiplayer modes are pretty cool.

...however, after playing for five hours (well, I was probably active only about 3.5 of those hours, it's just that the Wii recorded it as five hours or so), my arms hurt. I mean, like, bad. I've used muscles I don't think I have in years. Of course, my slightly more physically fit housemate who spent nearly as much time on it (yay multiplayer!) is also sore, so...

Congrats on the Wii!

You realize your arms wouldn't be so sore if you didn't "flail around like a monkey", right? :P

Meh, more fun that way though. ^.^

One of the minigames in Wario Ware is scrubbing a cow's ass.

I just thought I should mention it.
