Summarized?

Did you even *play* KH2?

They don't explain virtually *anything*. At all. Ever.

He means that the intro of KH2 summarized what happened during CoM.

Unless I'm reading your post wrong.

I understand what he said.

The intro of KH2 sort of hints at it, but it hardly explains it.

And it doesn't change the fact that CoM is still the strongest in the series in terms of story.

Yeah, it was all summarized before you get control of Sora.

EDIT: psht, yeah, sure.

You just desperately want there to be a reason for that game to have existed, don't you? :P

I'll agree with you there, however...

godawful "card game real time battle" garbage

I also agree with Newb on this point. I *hated* the battle system, but I endured for the story.

So a trailer for the Penny Arcade game, "On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness," comes out next week. It is apparently a steampunk/Lovecraftian setting starring familiar faces as characters.

Thoughts and feelings?

CardBoard Tube Samurai fanservice anyone?

Just ask Cran. KH2 has a lot of discrepancies in terms of story, (KH1 too, but it's less of deal, there.)

And saying that the KH2 intro summarized CoM is like saying "He got some extra pocket money" when someone wins the lottery.

It's technically true, yes, but it's laughable simple to the point where it might as well not be.

And you can play CoM the *exact* way you played KH1. You run around, and mass A, that basically it.

I beat both sides of the damn thing, and I still didn't find it redeeming.

Oh, sure, you find out that Riku escaped from the darkness, but DUH.

If he didn't, I for one would have been very surprised.

As for the first run-through, it "never happened" because of all that memory garbage.

EDIT: I didn't mash "A" in either game...

Except the bosses use the same system but don't get the limits you do, which is why I quit on the Third Rikku fight when he constantly spammed his Slights.

If it were that simple, I wouldn't have quit the game for like 3-4 months in disgust.

Thoughts and feelings?

On the one hand, I love Steampunk and I love Lovecraft, and combining the two is a brilliant idea, especially considering the favored time period for Lovecraft games and already fantastic elements lead this to being an easy evolution/combination.

But on the other hand... By the Penny Arcade guys, and featuring characters from Penny Arcade? How would it even work? Adventure style? Platformer? FPS? RPG?

I'm not even sure what to think of that. It's like expecting Disney to make a gritty tale of Lovecraftian horror where Micky goes insane and hangs himself: I can't even fathom how it would work.

I think of fanservice as anything that gets more screen time than it should just because its popular.

Like

FFVII Advent Children in its entirety.
