Maybe double-post, maybe not.

Here's how the system that GJ flippantly misquotes works:

1. There is a base-level of exp that you get that never changes. It's what you'll be getting for the vast majority of the time you play.
2. If you are 'rested' you gain bonus exp for a while. This does not apply to quests or other similar forms of EXP, but only to exp recieved directly from kills. You become more rested by a: being logged out (bonus to accumulation rate if you're logged out in an inn), or simply being in an inn or a major city.

Ahh, that doesn't sound so bad. So if I get to an Inn before I log off and go to bed, I get bonus XP for killing stuff. Sounds like a decent system.

It's damn helpful if you're gone for the week, or something. And no, there's no penalizing for playing just one character. The other characters are for either A) you're bored and want to try a different class/race/side, or B)Playing on a different server, either because you have friends on different ones, or you want to try a PVP or RP server.
No fanfare, no special effects... Just Jon

So yeah that new Full Metal Alchemist game is out. If you're an FMA fan and considering buying it I highly recomend renting it first. Thought maybe with Square-Enix backing it that it might be good but.. no. Took about 10 minutes worth of playing it for me to take it back. Clunky controls, poor dated graphics, lame audio. I don't mean the dubbing either. The dubbing was done well, everything else wasn't. Just a horrible game by any standards.

Seconded strongly! I was hoping it was good too, but I hadn't heard anything until I saw the VG Cats review.

You people topic shift away just before I come on to post...

For the record my main server on WoW is Lightning's Blade for Horde.

What were your servers again? I should make a character so I can group with you guys.

Also, I have class in 8 hours and will check this afterwards.

EDIT: Also, I heard similar things about the Inuyasha game, I wish they would start making anime games good.

The Naruto Fighting games are good but we cant get them  .

Is the fact that I only just realised that FZ's name comes from Lynx's lv3 tech in Chrono Cross a bad thing?

Yes.

Yes it is.

In other news, Wind Waker's Triforce hunt isn't so bad when you have the Giant's Wallet. I'm up to 4K in rupees, and I still haven't found all the charts yet. My idea: one long visit with Tingle beats eight short visits between which I become frustrated looking for rupees.

We'll see how that goes. Oh, and I died for the first time today in that game. When getting the Outset chart, I found that I could go deeper. You see, once you get the chart, a ray of sunlight creeps into the room. There's an elephant statue in this room, like the ones in the Earth Temple. You know, the photophobic elephant statues. Being the greedy schmuck I am, I decided to see what glorious treasures awaited me at the bottom. I have three fairies, I thought. What's the worst that could happen? I thought.

I lasted all the way to a battle with four Wizrobes and four Iron Knuckles. Then, bereft of all 99 arrows, and my magic, I discovered that the hookshot requires you to be stationary while shooting at a target, in my case, a Wizrobe.

So... anyone have an idea of what's at the bottom?

Um... a heart piece? I think... it's been so long since I went there...

And Knight, isn't a lack of exp bonus comparable to a penalty? It's the same thing, just viewed in a different light...

?

You have an experience bar that you need to fill up to get to the next level. When you rest, a marker on that bar goes up (and it can scroll over to the next level, too, if it gets that long). When you come back, you get double experience for killing things (not for quest exp), until your experience reaches the marker.

It's not penalizing you for not resting, it's just helping to balance out the people who can play 12 hours a day with the people who can play 4. ^^;

And not even completely, really.

Just saying that if you're used to getting the bonus by not playing much, the lack of bonus would be like a penalty...

But I already know I view things in a... special... way... so I'll just concede and drop it...

And I'm still wondering how you could lose with three fairies... just a bad day in Hyrule, MFD?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure a Heart Piece is at the bottom, because I was pissed I went down that far just for one Heart Piece...

Yes all you get from there was a lousy piece of heart. I really didn't think that sidequest was that tough, although I HATE Wizzrobes. I'd rather fight 8 Ironknuckles then 4 Wizzrobes and yes I'm serious. They are one of the cheapest enemies in the whole game. Besides that FMA got a shit review on Game Revolution, which is one of the few gaming sites that I trust, most are too soft.

So....what do you get when you mix Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, and Disgaea?

Well, for one, a bunch of pissed off FF/FE/Disgaea fanboys/girls, but that's neither here nor there. - Notty, Games and Stuff.

Well, I didn't ration my arrows or my magic... I kinda wasn't planning on going further until I saw I could. And then I didn't think that it could be much further.

Oh, and Hookshots work on Wizrobes. Weaker than arrows, and you have to be stationary while firing it, but it works.

Piece of Heart... fuck that. I still need to find the fairy that doubles your magic. Then I might consider it.
