I didn't have any complaints. The style you used in battle actually seems to influence how the Bros. battle skills grow.

A little. Not much. My favorite type of RPG is one that utilizes a class system, like FF1 (to an extent), FF3j, FF5, and DW7. That was one reason I love DWVII so much. There are even many classes in it that you cannot attain until you master certian other classes. IE, you must master Warrior and Cleric before you can be a Paladin.

Well, I guess you'll love the system I was working on(and shall be again once my laptop is fixed).

Basically, you use your exp to purchase either stats, or improve their abilities in a class. However, when you make a purchase, you limit the other aspects of the characters growth.
eg: Increase your characters White Mage ability, and you limit how much they can increase their Black Mage powers.

Oh yeah, I have a couple of ideas. Not as original as that above one. Here they are:

There are two special equipment slots for a special brand of jewels with two possible functions: One defines how their stats grow, the other defines the techniques they can use in battle. The function that activates depends on the slot you equip the jewel to.

At the start of the game, you get a character generator for each of your characters. Choose their class, and purchase extra stat point increases, additional equipment types that can be equipped, out of class abilities, etc.

Take the materia system, but push it way further than that. All stat increases and techniques are learned through the equipment the characters have on.

Thought you might like those.

Oh, and then there's my time travelling one, in which you get to choose which 'era' a character is from. Each 'era' having its own strengths and weaknesses.

By the way, I could never figure out the moustache points...What did they do?

It allowed you to get discounts at stores, and was also a luck stat I believe.

I love your game ideas Drek.

I loved DWVII's class system, I wish I had finished Earthbound...

I've been 'training' to be a games designer all my life.

Only one problem: I've never been stoned out of my mind. ;)

Just go into any dark, smelly alley in NYC, and you are all set. Or stepping on a hobo.

This talk of getting high reminds me of last nights "Jongleurs Unleashed", in which a comedian detailed his trip to Amsterdam. And his attempt to use a brick of marijuana in just five days.

By the end, he had no choice but the eat it. He was enjoying the ride home in coach way too much.

Great. Now I have the song "Because I got High" stuck in my head.

Only way to counteract that is another song about being high!

Come on everybody!

Yellow submarine
Yellow submarine..."

Listen to the Algernon.

As to that whole argument... Randy likes DW7. Himi likes Earthbound. MFD likes M&L. That's all it is... no reason to argue...

DW7... I loved it. I shall always love the "Quest to get this city bigger with people you recruit" kind if idea, and actually forming the whole world with land is a step up. But it's soooooooooo looooooooooong...

Who doesn't love earthbound? Eat a burger, gain strenght? Brilliant!

M&L I haven't gotten to play much yet, due to lack of GBA of any sort...
No fanfare, no special effects... Just Jon
