Meh...never got into those Sim-Life games - unless you count Morrowind, anyway.

Animal Crossing did have one nifty feature though: You could buy or find NES games, bring them back to your guy's house and actually play them till your eyes bled.

...No, one-dimensionality is NOT a precondition of pasta!  What about lasagna?  Well, sure, but something can be zero-dimensional and still be pasta! It's not geometry, its semolina content. Yes, I suppose you could make mobius pasta. No, I'd draw the line at orthogon-os...

Yes, that was an awesome feature. I hope it's going to be in the DS version. It would basically make the "Classic NES" series of GBA games obsolete, though.

I've heard rumors, however, that the DS version might even have SNES games....

Too bad it's probably just a rumor.

Meh, I'm going to wait a while on the DS/PSP wave that is about to hit. I've got enough games I still haven't beat yet that those two systems are way down on the list of things I need to get around to.

I have a good number of games to beat too, but there's always room for both consoles AND handhelds. There's some places where you can't play consoles...

Y'know what'd be cool, if they allowed game data to pass between CC and the DS version... same for other games...

How would they do that, though? The DS uses WiFi, so it has no link cable port. But the Gamecube doesn't have WiFi....
Nintendo's next console had better have a WiFi access point built into it...

Or, they could sell a Wi-Fi port that hooks into a controller port.

It's not too hard to think of, Mecja.

Except that if they were doing that, they probably would have already announced it.

Well, what's the point? They're waiting to see if the DS will sink or swim, first.

Besides, with the GCN touting GBA compatability, you'd have to be pretty stupid to not bring it to the next level.

Especially since Nintendo's not about to reveal a new console, yet. The N64 was alive and well in the era of the PS2 and XBOX, the GCN will be alive and kicking during the era of PS3 and Xenon.

I think the DS will beat the PSP for one reason, if nothing else.
It's being released first.
The PS2 is doing better then the Cube and the X-Box, market-share-wise. Why? Because it was released first.
The DS coming out before the PSP makes the future look good for Nintendo fans....
And this helps too:

Too few posts for a custom title
It also helped that the PS2 had a huge premade fanbase, no stigma, and the support of almost every third-party developer.

The GBA has a huge player-base, and tons of third party games. The DS will too.

I have no doubt that DS will do great. But then the PSP will do great as well, becasause it's got a built in fanbase as well.

But one of the PSP's "selling strengths" (the ability to play movies) is flawed. What is the liklihood of the movie industry releasing copies of movies on Sony's proprietery discs, that aren't used in anything but the PSP?
