Virtualboy forced you to crane your neck at the most uncomfortable position possible and it only showed things in red... or maybe that was the blood coming out of my eyes. It also didn't do any of the things it claimed to and had basically no games on it besides Wario.

Still, I can't help but get a bad feeling from this in the pit of my stomach... and these feelings haven't let me down before...

The feeling is because it is too good. It will end civilization because everyone under 35 will stop breeding and only work just enough to support them and their gamesystem.

Hard worked fake

And that's all it is, it was even advertised as a fake by the guys who made it.

EDIT:In other words, chill Jew, it's not real. This excerpt from a NY Times article on new systems is;

Nintendo, struggling to shed an image that its technologies mostly appeal to children, is preparing to deliver a game console that is radically different from the cute and cuddly GameCube.

Perrin Kaplan, Nintendo's vice president for corporate affairs, said GameCube's successor would be "very, very sleek." She described it as horizontal and no taller than a stack of three DVD cases.

Unlike GameCube, the new system will play DVD's, Ms. Kaplin said, and will feature a wireless controller. It will play GameCube games as well as a new class of high-definition games, with new emphasis on online play.

Oh, right. I read the article, I just panicked when I saw that realistic advert. Still, I think that Nintendo stays afloat these days via catering to nerds and kiddies. By scaring away kiddies with a sleek system focused on online gameplay, they will go the way of Atari and Sega. The winds of change are again blowing. The Superman of Nintendo is walking into the Lair of Doomsday Third Partydom in order to make a futile attemt at saving Lois Popularity.

I think one of the only things keeping Nintendo afloat is brand loyalty. They were good once, very good. They used to be the best. And many remember that, and hold firmly to the love of the SNES.

True. That is the "nerd" section I mentioned. I use nerd as a term of honor and respect (as I consider myself one).

All I know is, as long as there's games I like on the new system...I'll buy it.

S'all that matters to me.

I know. ANd many, myself included, will. But we will only make uo half of their income. Without the kiddie half, they WILL die.

Eh, we'll see. I'm at the point right now where I think an online Super Smash Brothers would pull their asses out of the fire.

Oh no, you're totally right. If not for Halo we'd see the X-box going the way of the Do-do...or the N-gage...

I weep...

Ok. Lets go through what we truely want out of a new game system.
My top requirement is an effective control system. I always loved the SNES dogbone controller but once we moved up to 64 and beyond, I could never work it quite as well.
