IT HAS GAMES? 'cuz y'know, I've been surviving off this stupid Metroid demo. I may be forced to buy some crappy game just so that I can say I have a game for the bloody thing.

I'm in the exact same situation. I have the system but only the demo. they could have at least had a couple other demos on the cartradge.

I only have Super Mario 64 DS for it. Nothing else they have right now interests me. But I know Nintendo is gonna release some good games for it later...

Well, right now, the DS is OWNING the PSP in Japan, thanks to Nintendogs.

So...maybe that's something to look forward to?

DS versus PSP is like the battle of the unsupported units. Very anticlimatic. I think its because PSP has the console brand, but Nintendo has basically owned the portable market for so long and nobody wants to take sides. That and the next gen systems(another new system allready?!)

On the one side you have a great system with few good games, and on the other side you have a great system that masks its lack of good games by throwing every other god-damn thing they can think of into it.

Who else remembers Gamegear?

I do. Gamegear was cool. It had a pretty nice screen.
You could watch channel three or four on it but the damn thing ate batteries like they were going out of style. Also I think I remember that the controls weren't as good as on the regular sega controller.

You should really buy Super Mario 64DS, then.

And um... Revenge of the Sith is kinda neat.

Game Gear was awsome. It had a back-lit screen before the SP was a twinkle in Nintendo's eye, had nearly Genesis quality games on a hand-held system when the current Gameboy games looked like rejected Atari 2600 ideas, and all sorts of kickass additions to it, like that thingy you hooked on that magnified the screen.

But damn did it consume batteries. It took six batteries to run the thing, and it could burn through them in about six hours of play time...

That, and the darn thing was very clunky.

...and I hear it had the power of the Master System.

Meh, the clunkyness wasn't a huge problem depending on what you were doing with it. Carrying it with you anywhere was neigh impossible since it was huge, but for a long drive somewhere it was awsome. I'll have to dig mine up again one day...

And yeah, that sounds about right. Pretty good quality for a hand-held at that time.

Don't have to worry 'bout finding mine, it broke. Either that, or I have to spend a crap load of money on buying new batteries or a charger.

>.> I believe the Game Gear is responsible for the meaningless existence of the Game Boy Advance SP. I think Nintendo got tired of people comparing the GBA to the Game Gear, which...it basically was. A Game Gear with flashier graphics.

The gameboy SP served has seemingly done it's one purpose.

Teaching nintendo to never do anything like that again.

*pfoof*

Only hand held systems I ever owned were the original Game Boy and an Atari Lynx. THe Atari Lynx was intresting but I only had a couple games for it. I think it's similar to the game gear in bulkyness. I also had the ill fated Virtual Boy, my favorite game for that system is galactic pinball.

Nope. Couldn't possibly because people didn't like the lack of a backlight. Not at all.
