No, instead, they're being stupid again. I mean, seriously, what do they expect to gain from this? "We'll charge people for a free service on our special console they have to buy". That's like building a road that goes around the highway, slower than the highway, and then charging people to drive on it.

I dunno. That there iTunes seems to be doing well. And it's basically the same thing for music.

The reason they think they can get away with it is they think that most people are stupid. And to tell the truth I'm inclined to agree; at least on that subject.

Of course. People are stupid. Why else would they utilize a perfectly legal way to play old games, rather than the illegal and unsafe free method.

Besides the cops catching you. Could you please explain how it is unsafe. A good fire wall will protect you from most of the adware and viruses out there, and if you use common sense then you would probably stop alot of problems before they happen.

Stupid in the sense that if you're caught you could get fined a scheiße load of money.

I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks for old NES and SNES games.

You do realize that they will most likely charge around twenty bucks for the Nes roms. Maybe more for the Snes.

Downloading things is more dangerous than people tend to think. A firewall and virus scanner will NOT protect you entirely. It's a little silly to think that a single product could keep up with the massive numbers of very bored teenagers and adults writing viruses...

I had Norton, and then I got a free scanner called Avast that was recommended to me by a friend. It did a boot-scan (running the scanner before windows had loaded, to catch boot viruses that run while windows is loading and then go dormant, thus rendering themselves undetectable), and it caught several hundred that Norton missed entirely...

The common sense thing was just refering to things like if a site asks you to change your homepage you tell them no.

Yes, but I don't do things like that and I STILL got hundreds. Hell, I don't even download anything, and I use firefox so popups are automatically blocked... I don't even use AIM, having abandoned it in favor of Trillian.

Well then it seems like just being on the internet will put hundreds of viruses on your computer. So there isn't much you can do about it.

I would be surprised if the NES ROMs were more than a dollar, the SNES were more than five, or the N64 more than 10.

You can buy old Cube games for ten bucks. Honestly, why does everyone assume that it will be expensive? They already HAVE the software created.

If you think that they will make it expensive for the downloading system, iTunes hasd a similar library, and songs from them cost only 99 cents.

If you think that they will make it insanely expensive because people are idiots, and Nintendo is a big, mean, corporation, then you obviously have no grasp of economic principles.

EDIT: Yes, Dead, but downloading files off the internet from emulation sites is pretty sketchy. All the ones that I've seen are crap-loaded with spyware and pop-ups. Not saying that all of them are, but it is the majority.

...you're joking, right?

There's no way they'd charge that much for NES games. I'd think more around $5 for a NES, maybe $10 for a SNES.

Remember when they re-released those old Nes games for the GBA? Those were arond $20 bucks apiece.
