That was to cover the hardware costs. You know, the cartridge? Changing the programming to fit on the GBA?

We're talking about a file that you can DL to play on a built-in emulator. It won't be nearly as expensive.

I don't believe it. Plus if they can get away with it you know they will.

There's risky behaviors that can turn the hundreds into thousands (like emulators, pornography, etc...), but you can simply get them simply by being connected to the internet, yes that IS the point I'm trying to make... and a virus scanner is not a free ticket to do whatever you want...

Re-released games for the GBA included cartridges and distribution to the retailers, plus the retail markup, so of COURSE they were more expensive...

I don't believe it. Plus if they can get away with it you know they will.

It's simple supply and demand. If Nintendo charges an outrageous price, then they will sell less DLs, and end up making less money than if they sell it at a lower price.

Say they DO charge $20. Let's say that maybe one million DLs will be sold for that amount of money. They earn $20M.

Say they charge $2. They sell fiteen million copies, because more people can afford it. They earn $30M.

Supply. And demand.

And less people involved in the consumers getting it, so less markup to pay salaries.

Right-o. And they're facing competition that is FREE. Pricing the games too high will send more people to the risky, illegal alternative.

In other news... Kirby Canvas Course is a nice addition to my DS library, and I've only played it for half an hour.

And Kirby is the cutest amputee EVAR.

But... the thing is, putting the game on a computer makes it loose something. Its more fun on a true console or a gameboy for some reason.

I think it's better on a computer than the GBA for the simple reason that the GBA just couldn't be a little taller so that it could match a TV in resolution.

True. But what the gameboy lacks in size it makes up for in portability. You can play it anywhere, and the control scheme is much easier and enjoyable than keys on a keyboard. And gameboys cannot run on WIndows,, so they don't freeze up for a few seconds here and there, or get the Blue Scree of Death while you're fighting a boss.

Uh-huh. For some reason I'm doubting you ever had those problems yourself.

Then you'd be wrong.

You're saying you've actually had a blue-screen during your game?

Acctualy, I find it easier to play GBA games on a keyboard.

Its easy once you get the hang of it, it just isn't as fun. The gameboy was INTENDED to have those controls, and the games were designed for that control scheme.

Yup.

There might be something a bit wrong with your computer, then. I've honestly never had a single blue-screen, and I've been using Windows since 3.1 was new. I thought they were just an incredibly overexaggerated urban legend...

I can happen with shitty software; the older versions of windows crashed on me with certain programs or too many things running, but hasn't really happened with XP... a few freeze-ups, but rarely a total system freeze.
There used to be an image here telling you to vote, but then Photobucket, the image site made to allow you to do third party hosting, no longer allows third party hosting without throwing a shitload of money at them... and I can barely afford to eat. So no you get some text of me bitching about it, yaaay! Also, go vote.
Everyday I'm tumbl'n.
