I'll play it when the Revolution comes. It'll be cheaper trhen, too. As of now, thats the only thing besides the games I have now that are cause to get a new 'cube. Whereas PS2 has several games, like SC3, Disgaia, and a few others. |

But with that kind of reasoning shouldn't you wait for PS3 and just get an Xbox 360 this winter? |

Because I don't plan on getting an Xbox 360 ever, I plan on getting a Revolution first of all the Nex-Gen systems, and desire to wait for PS3 so that its price may drop to a wee bit less than $300 and it develops a quality liberary. The Revolution already has three system's worth when it arrives, remember? ANd it just seems wrong to pay a hundred bucks to reach the same level I thought I was at this morning. If I'm going to pay that kind of money, I want something that seems new. |

Jewthy, try opening the cover for the gamecube, spinning the disc, closing it and having it try to read the disc. |

As for the debate over quantity versus quality, I'm perfectly happy with the rate that Cube games come out. I have entirely too many games to beat, just for the Cube: Metroid Prime (I really ought to fully stock ammo and energy, so I can beat Metroid Prime. I swear, those Fusion beasties soften me up EVERY TIME!), Megaman X: Command Mission (which I recently started over), Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Damn Boiler Room. I hate you), MarioKart Double Dash (Still need to unlock the Chancellor's Car, and the Boo Pipes), Pokemon Colloseum (Damn you, Raikou!), Eternal Darkness (Chattur'gha's Alignment), Mario Sunshine... I got alot of games to play. Still. And when I beat Metroid, I can get the second one, since the third MP game is a launch title for the Revolution... and when I beat Viewtiful Joe, I can get THAT sequel, and then there's Starfox Assault, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, and Mario Party, once I can find a third and fourth to join my brother and me... And then there's Geist, and Twilight Princess... and then the Revolution should be coming out soon... which means MORE games... which means that I have plenty of games for the Cube. As for GTA, aside from the opportunity for random violence and massacres, the game DOES have a pretty cool plot to follow. What else? Oh, right. My Cube's in working order, still. Then again, I don't play it for hours and hours. Oh, if only I had that sort of time... |

On the subject of the Cube quantity vs Cube quality, I'd like to point out, that with the Gameboy Player, the Cube has access to the entire GB/A library, which, one could argue, is BETTER than the Cube's own library. |

The GBA library is a bit like the PS2's. There are great games for it (more great GBA games then PS2 games in my opinion) but still 90% of GBA games suck. |

Considering the near-ridiculous amount of excellent GBA games I have, I find that particular statistic a little hard to believe.... |

Ook. (Eh, each system has good games. Personally, I like the Cube because it has a lot of good multiplayer "party" games. Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Smash Bros Melee, F-Zero, etc... are all very good. Another wierd but good multiplayer game is Pacman Vs. Three people use Gamecube controllers and play as ghosts (with the 4th being AI) while one player uses a GBA linked up to play as Pacman. The ghosts get a limited view of the screen while Pacman gets a full view on the GBA; giving Pacman an edge against the team of ghosts. The ghost that manages to kill Pacman gets a bunch of points and gets to play Pacman next round. It keeps going until one player has got a preset number of points; either through eating pellets as pacman or by catching pacman as a ghost. It's a good game. And yes, the GBA has a ton of good games. I use my DS in GBA mode almost as much as DS mode.) Edit: Oh, and here's a cuteness overload: http://www.nintendogs.com/ |

I agree wholeheartedly. I'll push through violence for a good enough game, but its not a selling point for a game. Oh, and 90% of the gba is crap? Where the hell did you find those 9 games? |

Ook. (To be honest, the DS hasn't been great so far. Meteos and Canvas Curse have been great, but the rest of the games have been average or ports of old games. Super Mario 64 DS and Rayman were both good, but both are ports of old N64 games. Mario's nicely updated, but still a port. Nanostray is a good shooter game, but it feels like something that's been done before. Not bad, just not a very original game. Nintendogs and Advance Wars DS should be good and they both come out on the 23rd. This fall should be good for DS owners. Mario Kart (which will be online), Animal Crossing (also online), Metroid Hunters, Mario and Luigi 2, Snowboard Kids DS, The Sims 2, Viewtiful Joe DS... I might need to start saving up now....) Edit: Oh, and it should be called Kittendo.

I was really worried that the birth of the DS would be the end of 2d gaming(for good this time, no moving to the handheld market) but it seems the DS hasn't been much of anything. It needs some games before it ends up like the cube did(up till recently anyways) |

Ook. (Kittendo could be good; but there's a few issues that need to be worked out. The biggest is how to have a lot of activities to do with the pet. With a dog, you get to train them to obey voice commands and enter them in contests and whatnot. Cats aren't known for their tendency to obey commands and I don't think cats EVER do obstacle/agility course contests.) |
