Yes. It's a really good game...

Also, if you don't listen to the credits, then you will not be burdened with the cliffhanger which I am burdened with.

So what does everyone think of the stripped down version of the Xbox 360 going for $299 US? Still the $399 price tag is steep.

So....what do you get when you mix Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, and Disgaea?

Well, for one, a bunch of pissed off FF/FE/Disgaea fanboys/girls, but that's neither here nor there. - Notty, Games and Stuff.

Ouch... that's just not right. I don't know about you, but I sure as hell wouldn't buy a system with all those missing features, even if it were $100 cheaper.

And the part about Nintendo and Sony thinking about not putting hard drives in their systems? I don't like the sound of this...

Ook,
(I think I read somewhere that Nintendo's planning on going with some kind of built-in flash memory thing and that's why they're not putting in a hard drive. Can't remember where, though....)

Librarian - Hmm... that certainly does shed a bit of light on the subject. I guess this is why getting info about upcoming systems online isn't such a great idea; you rarely get the whole story...

Carl - If only I knew the answer to both of those... actually, I'm not sure I want to know.

Nintendo said they're trying to keep the price down to appeal to a wider audience. And I think the Revolution will have 512 MB of internal flash storage, and compatible with SD cards for further storage.

Microsoft makes one huge freaking blunder.

Or, to be more precise...

Quote:

Microsoft has confirmed that the "Core System" will not be backwards compatible out-of-the-box. In order to play current-generation Xbox games, owners of the bare-bones system will have to purchase the detachable hard drive. It is unclear whether or not backwards compatibility will work with the smaller-capacity 64MB memory cards.

As for next gen... well, I'm going to stick to my Cube until prices drop as of now. I'll then get either a PS3 of Revolution (Haven't decided which to buy first...) as long as I can afford it.

Edit: Ja, Mike speaks the truth. I prolly won't get a 360 anyway, but the Core Bundle is... yeah.

Mike, the point is that anyone who wants to play any Xbox title would have to shell out an additional 100$ to get the Xbox 360 with the removable hard drive and even then, 64 MB memory cards wouldn't work with it.

On the other hand, the nintendo revolution is already stated to be backwards compatibile, so, advantage = nintendo.

Bah, I'm sticking with Nintendo this time round. PS3 is tempting, but Xbox blew its shot at glory by publishing a microscopic selection of good non-movie franchise games.

The Revolution's prolly going to be my main pick of the bunch, with PS3 running a close second.

With KH2 and SCIII still on the PS2, I just don't have a reason to get a PS3, and the X-Box core pack is so completely and utterly screwed up.

Mike, I think the point is, is that it's a bit of a "lose-lose even worse" situation here. You can buy the full set, for $399, which is a LOT right out of the gate or get the core back 'bargain' (as most will think) for $299 and end up having to shell out $100 later for the harddrive, at which point they'll have spent pretty much the same amount of money, but have LESS extras than what the full set COMES with.

All those kids who put "X-Box 360" on their Christmas lists and their parents who don't know enough about games and simply get what they think is the cheaper deal, are going to find themselves quite screwed later on.
